that burst is absolutely gorgeous, I've always played Les Paul's(mainly Epiphones) that weight as much as a car so interesting these are light weight, but still retain that growl and Grunt I always fancied the vintage Lemon drop but that V100 has made me think again,
Connor (in the video playing) also has an epiphone thats a boat anchor haha. Yeh the V100HB here is nice and light. It seems people at some stage swore by heavy les pauls, but over time that opinion has changed to lighter les pauls. The V100 lemon drops are coming in too but they are slightly more money :)
Better built guitars than their Gibson counterparts. Took me to own four Gibson's and six Japanese tokais to realise the best playing and sounding Les Pauls I've ever played are Vintage brand. Not so keen on their strat and Tele stuff though
Honestly this P90 one is probably my favourite vintage ive ever had on. Would be nice if you get lucky with a lighter one but still, a great guitar that isnt worth tonnes of money so can take out with confidence haha
it's not even a thought for me. All black w/maple cap , p90's and heavy??? I'm all about that all day long. Any piece of mahogany with p90's in it is awesome. lol
Great guitars I own two Vintages a V100 in Tobacco Colour, and Vintage V6P with three of those P90's so Strat with 3 Stacked P90's , these guitars are diamonds
The P90 really cuts through and almost sounds like the old ibanez super distortions did, bet harmonics squeal effortlessly from it. The standard just has typical Warm mellow tones. It would be the p90's for me as I have wanted something with P90's for a while but am maybe looking at a junior. Have an 81 Les Paul custom and a Burny 3 pick up Ace Frehley so okay for Les Paul's. Although I did see new Chinese Burny lemon drops for £550 recently and Tokai do them too. I believe the Chinese Burny are generally slightly better than the Tokai due to materials used but both claim to be made in china under the supervision of Japanese personnel.
The P90 one here is very cool - not every 'budget' company does a '54 custom type les Paul aswell as your normal burst. And these are great for that, You just gotta 1 watch the weight and 2 the out of the box set up from vintage is often quite poor. I would love to see vintage make a few tweaks, a staple P90 in the neck and a Nashville style bridge would really make it even sweeter for the buck I think! Thanks for watching - always cool when an old vid pops up haha.
Sadly they are known for having a few QC issues out their door. Thankyou for saying that 🙂 No guitar will ever leave here without me being 100% happy with every part of it
Rosewood is a very generic term, like a lot of paper spec sheets are with guitars lol. Theres many many types of rosewood. Also, I get the feeling JHS change the specs on these from time to time. Hope that makes sense :)
Yeah definitely more of cherry burst than a honey. I've been playing over a decade now and yet to even try play a Les Paul guitar. Might have to one day if I can ever get up the dough. Thanks for the vid.
I just partscasters out of whatever parts I can afford, lol. My first guitar was a knock off Strat in the most beautiful metallic green I've yet to see on another guitar. Should have kept it. Anyway, all the best, man. I hope your channel grows.
I'm after a Vs6 between 2005 and 2012 before they change the shape and from when they started using wilkinson pickups etc... I've seen an encore e69 that looks exactly the same as the vs6 but obv body and hardware etc is different.... They are both made by jhs aren't they?
@@Paul-D they look exactly the same but body wood and pickups etc are cheaper on the encore? Is it worth getting an encore e69 or hanging out looking for the vs6.. I have a prs but wanted the sg shape and something to knock about on.. Can get an encore quote cheap compared to the vs6.. Obv again quality is diff even though they 'look' the same.. Body shape wise
Theres a big difference in quality of componants etc between the vintage and encore. In the end it just comes down to what your budget is and what the guitars role is for you 🙂
@@Paul-D just knocking about really.. Practice.. Not live.. I don't want to shell out for a new vs6 guitar when I have a prs but then you don't know what you gonna get on a used vs6 just to get the old shape.. Its just so I can have an sg 👍 always need more guitars 👌
If i was to chose between a new encore or a used vintage i would choose a used vintage. Good luck on the hunt! And yes more guitars is always good haha
