Just be aware that Vinted has some of the worst customer service going so it’s great when things go smoothly but 99% of it is run by bots so the minute a problem arises you are highly likely to be out of pocket with no support. If you are selling high value items you should be prepared to film yourself packaging them up and keep hold of postage receipts until orders complete. Vinted Pro also has a lot of category exclusions and doesn’t allow a lot of new with tag items either so it’s going to be good for some things and not others. Will be interesting to see your thoughts after 6 months.
The fact your fees eclipsed your monthly mortgage rate says it all really. eBay really are taking the proverbial here, forever increasing them and with no real benefit to business sellers to offset this. 22.5% average fees is a bit of an eye opener for those who still believe it's 12-15%. I can see Vinted Pro becoming very attractive, particularly for wearables.
Great to see your excitment George. I think that selling the same amount of stuff on Vinted you may make less than what you pay in eBay fees as almost everything seems to sell for much less on Vinted.
This wasn't a power move by Vinted, it was a power move by Ebay. They knew Vinted was going pro today so took steps to stop all the private sellers leaving for Vinted. Ebay business sellers are probably too invested into ebay to leave the platform totally.
@@anonymousone777 Vinted may have the youth but at least for buying games it's really hit and miss with quality and sellers get offended easily for just asking them to do the bare minimum in service quite often but not all are bad
Hi there. I signed up a week ago and immediately my sales boosted. I did learn something from you too. I was wondering why I wasn't getting pain. Turns out as you said. I will get the many 14 days later. Also, I noticed my feedback wasn't moving either. Maybe the same reason?
I’m on eBay as a seller I pay £80 plus vat , sales have been super flat lately as I haven’t been listing . I have 500 items up some are new items and stock but some are my own old clothing comics and books I’m thinking of going Vinted with all my own stuff and keep the professional product on eBay but reduce my shop to the £30 one for now. Their fees are utterly disgustingly disgraceful . Hooray for Vinted
Eventually there will be no deals on vinted anymore. I sell myself but i do feel sorry for people looking for cheap deals. Once resellers get involved the prices will go up.
This could be the MAJOR shake up ebay needs to address looking after their business sellers... But then we are talking about ebay haha. Lets see what ebay do to counter this propersition. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the update
It's going to be a race to the bottom. With Vinted and Pro on the same platform, business sellers will be forced to reduce their prices to compete with "personal" vinted sellers. Best prices will still be realised on ebay in the short term but it in the medium term it could also mean sellers will see a reduction of prices achieveable on ebay. One thing is for sure, we need to make sure the hassle of listing on ebay in terms of item specifics, decent photos etc, remain in place. If they go, then the 2 minute listing types will flood ebay and your sales prices will be decimated. Barriers to entry are good, not bad. Less available supply = higher prices. Be careful what you wish for.
I think atm customers are slightly older and wiser that shop in eBay , better customer service and returns for buyers, so you can get a better price. But saying that I had a Nike ACG running top on eBay for six weeks, as an experiment I put it on Vinted sold within Two hours.
Your selling costs also include any postage paid through eBay as well, not sure if you do that but my numbers are very similar to yours and includes my labels
For what you pay in fees with your shop for so many listings makes you wonder if you should have stayed private. 300… is 10 a day it’s a kick in the teeth, I think I’ll be going over to vinted pro. I’ve been paying £90 since April but the time I’ve messed with Electricals and other stuff that goes on I’m lucky to get 10 listing a day. EBay are going to lose business sellers to vinted pro! I hope you do well on there George, I’m gonna give it bash too
Good news, hopefully you get in soon! Love Vinted ... from the netherlands. Vinted here is selling to italy/Spain/Portugal/France/Luxemburg/Belgium... Hopefully more countries will follow. Unfortunately UK and Germany have their own Vinted... we can not get access to. Ebay fees are ridiculous.... for me last orders fees were between 25 and 30%... crazy! If i could survive financially only with Vinted and dutch selling sites, i would not go to Ebay anymore..
Hi George. Register as a limited company. It's about £20. Can do it in one day. I'm guessing that vinted pro are only letting registered companies sign up at the moment. You don't have to be VAT registered either at the moment, until you reach the turnover threshold of £90,000
I'm not sure about that. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I've been selling on both platforms for over a year now and I price the same item cheaper on vinted. I take off the ebay fee and postage cost and people still don't want to pay that amount on vinted. Imo as it stands vinted is like an online bootsale. People want to pay peanuts. I've still done ok on vinted however ebay was/is king for higher end
@@hoondaily8824 yes you are right about people wanting things for nothing, but when buyers know they can get the same item for 10 - 20% less on vinted it will switch a lot of the buyers across from ebay to vinted. Also a lot of stores will keep the same business name so it wont be hard to locate them and find the item they want. I can see eBay being for selling car parts or electrical goods but for preloved items vinted will excel
Another thing to add.... If you Google an item you want, it'll hit eBay in the search results. In my experience I've not seen search results for an item show up with a vinted link.
@@kiddcapri1711 yes that’s a benefit aswell as GSP which vinted don’t have. But all it takes is a buyer to go browsing and they will find it. But who’s to say vinted wont offer ways to promote listings at a better price, it’s in their hands
Hey Retro, what's the difference between vinted pro and vinted? Cus I started full-time recently, and my vinted has already like 300 plus reviews do I have to make a new account and lose the current account.
Some sole traders mistakenly believe that only limited businesses or large corporations must be VAT-registered. The truth is that both limited businesses and sole traders alike are just as liable for VAT registration because it is based on your 12-month turnover, not business structure.
I did get a reply from Vinted about the UTR issue and they asked me for a screenshot which I emailed to them so will wait and see how long it takes for them to sort it out.
I'm puzzled by so many gushing about Vinted Pro, stuff that sells for £25 - £30 on eBay will literally be £6 - £8 on Vinted... Yeah, theres no fees, but even if we include fees, promoted listings & free postage you'll be making less on Vinted? I'm just not seeing the hype - seriously why are resellers so hyped for VP!?
Absolutely. I don't understand how now one talks about how stuff sells for so little on vinted. I can sometimes even buy stuff off vinted and resell for twice as much on ebay
I think over time that will change as you get more full time sellers on vp its good for e bay to have competition as they have been taking the piss for far too long because there was no real competition, for me i wont be moving over until they do a daily payout as i cant afford to wait a week to get paid for items but to have another option is a godsend as e bay's ability to shut down a business overnight that has been established for years keeps me up at night tbh
Yes I’ve noticed this issue, when listing items on Vinted Pro they show you items that are similar that have sold and yes some items £1-£3 but I’ve put items on and the same price I have as on eBay! Vinted customers can send you an offer so keep your nerve and sell for what you know it’s worth. As said though, Vinted a good place to pick up items cheap and resell on eBay! Oh and by the way I’m not limited and a sole trader and was signed up within 5 minutes! Where they ask for your company number you put in your National Insurance number and that gets you past the hoops! Give it a go
Signed up for pro within the last week easy enough process Ltd Company. Although if you are from Northern Ireland they ask you to put your National Insurance number as your company number. Which i had to do then realized that is exposing possible identity theft. Put my shop on Holiday mode messaged vinted and they have now dotted out the National Insurance number on my profile so shop is now activated. No sales as of yet though. But that could be because i had the shop on Holiday Mode.
Hi George, do you use Packlink alot for postage too as thats included in that £1284.61. If you hover the mouse pointer over the little i in the circle it say's whats included in that total
I've been selling on vinted for a couple of years now. Got a nice following and 100+ reviews. I'm not a business or anything like that... Should i go Vinted Pro?
I don't think offsetting the cost of fees on the buyers is a great idea. It upsets customers to see a 10% higher price than the sticker. Mercari in the US has done this for the past 6 months and my biggest complaint is "why is shipping so expensive" when the fees go to the buyer. Stick with ebay, better customer experience, and a larger market for niche items.
Have i missed something?! Whats the difference between a standard vinted account and a vinted pro account apart from they just want more personal information fron you? What are the actual benefits to a Vinted Pro seller account?!?!
@@dysaster4521 plenty of people do though and I swear they've even got star wardrobe. Asked someone to take actual photos of their discs politely so I could check condition and that I thought their prices were a bit high as they were asking 2.99 for a £1 or £2 game etc and seemed to put .99 on the end of everything and they gave me a pretty rude response and started bringing up a couple bad feedbacks i had from some sellers who left me 1 star after I gave them 4 or something because their games were very damaged for being vg
You have to be registered at a house in London as owning a. Business it’s all for tax purposes and your info is shared with everyone your name phone number address and buyers have 14 days send items back no thks folk will go over to eBay
Ebay much have something up there sleeves because why would you sell on Vinted and pay 1200 fees every month when Vinted pro will have no fees. It’s too much money a month to lose. What this space I say
@@danmiles391 yes it does. Not sure what can be done with it but it is there. Sure there's still some bugs to be ironed out as it'll show your UTR Number if it accepted that wouldn't it?
@@glenrush7817 Yeah, but i'd rather have my UTR than my NI in public domain, chances are nothing will happen, but just opening yourself up to anything if its there
Yes they want all the info I looked into it today it’s daft we don’t have business premises etc vat num registered as well we are not businesses no business sellers most on Vinted are normal people Decluttering most stupid thing ever
Jon what he pay in fees is what u make on your best week and you call yourself a “pro” reseller go back to your 30 quid walkers mate! You might need to apply for another eBay loan Jon 😂😂😂
@@MrFlipper-tx3srGeorge's figures were for a month not a week and he has been going a lot longer than Jon. I hate people who criticise how much other people earn. What on earth has it got to do with them how much someone else earns. How much do you earn?

@РобертаДимитрова you need to use different gadget for creating pro . I had the same issue, and Vinted advised me to use the computer if I use the phone. From that moment, they stopped asking for UTR, but they asked for NI.
Unfortunately this why eBay die. They started to allow businesses that just killed the platform. Ebay was originally advertised as the online boot sale. Its a shame that they just done the same. i noticed that our local salvation army now started to list all the branded clothes on ebay and now just rubbish left to buy. All the charity shops now do the same. 😢
The T&C for Vinted Pro make it clear that bulk buying to sell is not permitted, the usual vaugness of Vinted. My oither half used to modestly sell before she was a business.. she buys used items, cleans them, fixes them, so they are 100% second hand and was banned from Vinted several years ago. However the way the whole thing was handled was like she was a major criminal, completely OTT. She, like yourself sells thousands on eBay now as a proper company but the fees are just no longer funny. She is now in danger of losing top seller as she can PROVE she dispatched in time for 3 items with Royal mail who we have a busines contract with and eBay refuse to remove the late dispatch black marks even though she can prove Royal mail picked up and scanned. Advice from Ebay - speak to your courier to fix all their problems or find a better courier.... One more black mark she loses her top seller status and pays MORE FEES due to issues out of her hands. eBay loathes business sellers but I am not sure Vinted are the answer.
@@matthewlane8630yes thats what i thought to, but they just banned me, trying to see if i can get unbanned at the moment but customer service is horrendous
greedy pro sellers will ruin this platform and push up prices on regular people who just want a littl cash for their old clothes. meanwhile resellers buy your clothes cheap then slap 300% on it.
Pro Sellers will try to get better prices, but I believe people go on Vinted for cheap items, generally customers won't want to pay the higher (inflated) prices of the Pro Sellers. Let's see. My money's on a race to the bottom price wise
