In most cases he was saying the owner changed the vin, hid the car and claimed it was stolen to the insurance as these cars are difficult/take along time to sell.

Ben Wayne.... Last week I went to see a little car i wanted to buy i talked with the seller wich buy the way was going to the army and made a deal that he was gonna give me a couple hours to come back with the money, after couple minutes he texted me he had another guy offering hundred dollars more and that if i wanted the car i would have to out bid him so i was like let me think about after a little while another text someone offered him two hundred dollars more so making it three hundred over the original price, i ignored him by the end of the day another text saying that he could wait for me until the next day, i told him to fuck off imagine a guy like that in the army...... A man that doesn't honor his word you already know the rest....

Isn't the VIN structure public knowledge anyway? (I'm not sure, I'm not from the US). It must take a particularly dumb thief to mess up the correct VIN structure on a windshield. I mean, the guy forgot the U letter, and the total length was 16 instead of 17.... How dumb was this guy?

I don't know about you but i can tell the difference between a $60 ebay fart can and a $600 Magnaflow canon. Plus not everyone knows what chassis code they have or what engine they have. Without Googling it i highly doubt you even know what a K20C1 is

I mean I'm not a thief and can pay full price, but seriously you just proved how easily every crook in LA or Miami can pull this off with no worries on getting caught.
