What an amazing Maiden voyage you are in for. Lets go...Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines, remove all the wheel blocks there's no time to waste! (A lyric you will discover on their 5th studio lp ...I also highly recommend the live EP "Maiden Japan". The last recordings featuring DiAnno on vocal). Never a bad album imho. Though there are a few that certianly have some warts...but hey with a catalogue like theirs that would seem inevitable if you ask me. My favourite band of all time! Great choices of albums to join the Edheads! Up The Irons! Enjoy. Cheers Robert! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘

Thats awesome you're getting into some Iron Maiden Rob! Number of the beast is one of my favourites, and I love the debut! It was one of the first albums I heard by them. That's cool you like Senjutsu, it's definitely a long epic album, they've done that a lot with their newer albums. 2 albums I recommend, Powerslave (1984) and A Matter of life and death (2006), both I think you would enjoy. Cheers 😁🤘🏻

@RobertsOnMyTurntable Hey Rob! You're welcome man, yeah definitely check them out. You'll like the artwork for them I think, and I'm sure you'll love the albums. If you like Senjutsu you'll be fine with all their later albums. Ah thanks man, I'm doing good thanks. Hope you are too. Cheers, you too 😊🤘🏻

My opinion about Iron Maiden's body of work is that all of their studio albums are top stuff from the beginning up to "Powerslave". Now, "Somewhere in Time" and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" are also terrific albums (actually, I've seen lots of people picking SSoaSS as their top favorite Iron Maiden album). But to me, those albums represent the sound of a band that said everything they had to say at first, and started exploring new stuff (without abandoning their essence, of course) to keep the ball rolling. The exploration exercise came to fruition with SiT and SSoaSS, but to me that's where the band starts losing steam. Still, "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" is in my opinion the last truly great Iron Maiden album. The follow-up, "No Prayer for the Dying", is the beginning of their decline. Picture it this way: from the debut up to "Powerslave", the band goes in an upward curve. They stay flat on top with SiT and SSoaSS, not going any higher, and "No Prayer for the Dying" is the beginning of their downward curve. Actually, the only song (not album) post-SSoaSS that I consider a true classic is "Fear of the Dark" (and _maybe_ "The Wicker Man", from "Brave New World"). All of the above is my sole opinion, of course. Anyway, Iron Maiden is a staple of heavy metal and I congratulate you for getting into them. A few more opinions to finish my comment: - "Hallowed Be Thy Name", from "The Number of the Beast", is the song that best summarizes Iron Maiden's sound and style. - If I HAD to pick just one Iron Maiden SONG, most likely that would be "The Number of the Beast". I never have enough of it. - "Live After Death", from 1985, is one of the best live rock albums ever. The document of Iron Maiden live at the top of their game ("World Slavery Tour", the tour in support of "Powerslave").

This is one of the best comments I've had. Thank you I will get to all those albums eventually. Time and money lol You hardly see any of these albums in the wild, but you've given me a great path to discover I do really appreciate it
