Not only a vinyl repair pro but excellent teacher....no slow talking, stuttering, boring side stories, incomplete information...you need to do tutorial videos about how to do tutorial videos.
Wow, quite impressive. I have an '05 Jeep TJ Rocky Mtn that has the typical crack on the interior door panels. It's a much easier job than this. Thanks for posting this.
great job!! my car got broken into last year and the bastard broke my window so glass hit my dashboard and made like 4 cuts in the dash board. i need to repair it and am trying to get ideas on how it is to fix. nice video
Wow!!! Never seen anything like it. My mom has a 1996 Mazda protege that she's giving me in about another year when I turn 15 and the doorpanels are nicked and the plastic was sticking up so it was pulled resulting in a bad look and feel. Will try the heatgun method then spray paint it.
Very nice job!! Never knew that could look so good.. You should do avid with better resolution. That would really show the fine details of the job. Great work and info. Thanks and keep up the work.
Sprayed way too much liquids and cleansers which will leave excess moisture inside and surrounding the cracks, this can easily result in poor results. Work slower, more carefully and only what you need to clean it off, not an entire sloppy wash.. you are experienced, most viewers have little or none, and I'm willing to bet that within time this whole restore falls apart. You also need to put wire support inside the broken pieces of foam in those wobbly panels.. then I'll be confident that this is a GOOD restore, but aside from that, everything you do and say is super valuable and right on. I just hope the speed of all this gets digested by your viewers, because its super fast and super valuable and super easy to miss all these very important directions your giving, give us more!
FALLOUT20rads Totally agree. What about that vinyl texture? Even child can see that there was some repair. Whole door panel have that texture of a vinyl and that repared place is just smooth. This is an example of how NOT to repair door panel.
+Ricky Roma bro how about look at some of my vids and go to my website. How's that for money. Oh and I will fix any interior part that a customer wants to pay me to repair. I do it daily home boy.
Sir...I loved your video! Can you tell me the list of supplies that are needed? My Honda Truck interior scratches really easy and I would love to fix it up! My 2006 Ridgeline only has 89.000 miles on it! Thank- you, Lori
This is definitely for a professional repair shop that can afford the cash outlay, as it would pay for itself quickly. For the average Joe, however, a replacement/new panel would probably be more cost effective. IMHO
I'm trying to repair an armrest on a car, and need to know the best way of leveling it off before applying the new vinyl? Would like for it to be solid, strong, and sturdy. Some of the foam is missing from underneath the crack and it is concaved. What would be a good product to fill this with?
wow that was very nice, great work! however is the repair a weak spot now, or will it flex and move with the rest of the dash when you hit bumps and such while driving? looks great though
I was thinking exactly the same thing, unless you are flipping cars, then maybe you build up your tools, but that panel did not look that rare maybe better to buy a used replacement
I'm just learning about airbrushes. Do you use a water-based, urethane, or some other paint? Which brand would you recommend for painting vinyl? Thanks.
nicely done... but why dont go to the scrap yard or search ebay. 40 bucks and you've got a nice used door panel altough the repair you did was nicely done!
Most cars in scrap yards are in poor condition, by me most of them have broken windows which results in mold... The money and time you spend wasting looking for a good part could have been used towards repairing the old part. Finding interior parts for my car (96' SC400 Black Interior) isn't cheap as they aren't common, in fact they can be quite expensive. This guy does excellent work I would use him right now if I could.
its not about the particular part he is fixing its about the process when needed on any vinyl crack like the one I have on my dash...my bmw e30 dashboard cost everywhere 350 400 bucks with no cracks.plus the labor to take out and put back..so I rather to do this job.
true....mmm not te be funny or something...but i last get rid of a e30 dash.... garbage ,u live in ??? but in the netherlands its not that exspensive....its said too hear it cost a lot.....

I hope this video a joke. in our country the housing shellers people do that, superglue and airbrush spray. I would call this not only the correction of shellers. the car breakers yard for the price of getting the adhesive trim. this is seriously a joke. XD
The idea is great the execution was horrible. Seeing how poorly you aligned the two pieces and how little adhesive you used on the foam... poor technique. Were you rushed?
