I love this album, the packaging looks amazing. I didn’t pick up this edition as it was way out of my price range, but I’m glad it’s out there and exists. As time goes on I love The Kinks more and more - to the point that I think that they are the best band to come out of Great Britain in the ‘60’s. In a 100 years time people will be in awe of the band. Both Ray and Dave are geniuses. God bless The Kinks.
Thanks for the inside scoop. Wonderful album and well done box set! Title track, Big Sky, Animal Farm, Days, and Phenomenal Cat. Those were the days! My favourite Kinks album along with Something Else. Just got the Nazareth Loud and Proud and Dylan's More Blood More Tracks box sets. Now saving money for The Beatles' White Album 50th. My wallet!!
@@jamiecottle5850 Hey Jamie, it has a lot of stuff. I assume you already checked out the incredible content. CD's, singles, double albums, etc... I paid around $120 from amazon Germany. Unbeatable deal! Have fun with The Kinks. How is the sound improvement? Cheers! Michael
Thanks for the video. I’m getting this bought for me for Christmas so it was nice to have a little sneaky peek!, looks fantastic. Fabulous album of course. Amazing band.
It is hard to pick one. Always liked the title track - really sets the mood for the album. I like the bluesy groove on Last of The Steam- Powered Trains. Wicked Annabella is such a quirky track - love it. But as you say there is a song for every mood on this album which is great. Which are your favourites?
@@jamiecottle5850 definitely Do you remember Walter, ....I think we all have a "Walter"...All of my friends were There.... reminds me of my manic 20s, lol..and Picturebook. Also Village Green. Sigh. Fantastic Album. Glad to find others who appreciate the beauty, depth.
Is this the Bernie Grundman remaster? If so, is this the first time he’s done it? I have a 3 lp set with rarities released about a dozen years ago, so I don’t think mine is a Grundman effort
Any idea where the (copied) signed photo is in the boxset? It is shown in the overall collection photo on the back of the box. I've had 2 copies and it is not in either, or your unboxing video.....sorry just seen the other comments. I am now emailing BMG. Thanks. I tried Amazon they don't want to know but are still selling the item incomplete.
Yes I did eventually get the autographed photo. I had to write for it. You can see it in one one my later videos. Pretty strange that it wasn't in any one of the box sets.
@@jamiecottle5850 I finally bought this box. AU$199.95 later.... I seriously want to punch whomever it was that put those horrible, rough, record scratching paper inners in this thing! Could they not spare an extra $0.10 to put it in a poly lined inner at least? I am sick of getting these so-called "audiophile" releases with no care what-so-ever taken with the manufacturing and packaging of the records themselves. Paper inners should be banned!! Okay.... rant over! Apart from all of that nonsense, it is a wonderful box set! I wish Apple had done The Beatles boxes like this. Recreations of the 7" records are such a great idea! I only wish a certain album or two of my favourite band's albums from 1986 and 1988 could get this special treatment...
