Cool and fun idea. I think if they did something similar, except with 7" singles i'd be down. As a flexi, they'd probably just collect dust in a box somewhere.

I imagine they're really only to play once or twice anyway, just enough to find out if you like the music enough to buy a real album. It's more of a "sampling" service, I think.

These appeared in the 60’s. Good way of smuggling in music to places you couldn’t listen to certain bands.

Wellsir, thanks to this video, I just got my first postcard. I'm pretty pleased with it. You're right, the sound quality ain't great, but I think the novelty more than makes up for it. I can pull it out for my friends and say "watch me play this postcard!" And the download is a great addition, so I can really hear the song at its proper quality.

Were you able to find a workaround for the auto return? my player is fully automatic so it does the same thing (good for falling asleep without leaving it running) but I'd love to try this service.

The old vinyl me please insert that came with the album of the month. There's a J Dilla unboxing on the channel that you see it up close

Seems cool but a bit pricey. It might make more sense if you were to get the price credited towards the purchase of the entire album, assuming you liked the band and wanted to order it after hearing the postcard.

Interesting but far from a new idea. These have been around since at least 1903. Check out this site that shows the history of recorded postcards going way back. www.obsoletemedia.org/gramophone-postcard/
