Thanks for the video. I repaired four corners of my vinyl Siding today. The siding remover tool is a must have. I tried without the tool and was a bust. Save some headache and purchase the tool.

Wow this works perfectly for trying to get wiring down the corner of the house. Make a just enough cut to feed your wire, once done you just cover up your cutout using this method. Perfect for security camera installation.

Nice idea, here's another tip. I have a 3" damaged corner, and I just tried it on a new 7' piece, but couldn't get 4" that matched so I went with 3". Plus a 4" piece would look too wide compared to an adjacent corner I have. Cut out the middle of the old piece leaving the flanges. But when you cut the new piece, leave a little bit of the curve, maybe 1/4", on one side. So cut about 1/4" less than he cut. The problem I had when cutting it the way he shows at about 5:00 is that it was hard to pull the flap open to slide over the old flange. If you leave the curve, as you push it will naturally slide on, for the most part. Regardless, trying to get 3" over 3" is pretty hard even after cutting out the old piece, the 2nd side is really hard. I ended up trimming the 2nd sid to leave just a small flap of about 1/2", and then i made a little hook tool from a spare pipe clamp or any piece of thin, strong metal. But it's defintiely easier than removing all the siding.

Slick idea! We literally had the same problem and it was up in the air over a stairwell and I didn't want to do the tricky ladder thing so I paid somebody and they pulled the siding off and all. This would have been so much better and easier to do

Thank you for this video. May I ask you if you would recommend using the foam inserts into the corner siding post? Can be used with outside corner pieces when installing TimberCrest I/S insulated siding These are available at Home Depot. For example ABTCO 3/4 inch Outside Corner Foam Insert (PC).

You showed two ways correct? One with just adding a 4” piece wrap and then cutting entire vinyl sheet etc. I felt like I missed something.

Please tell me where you got your vinyl side trim, I didn't see the link for it and I can't find anything at Lowes. My son cracked the corner of our garage with the car, luckily no structure damage but the siding has a huge vertical crack now (in addition to 2 cracks on the front bumper but that is another can of worms).

I did this and am am having issues with the new corner piece sliding down. Any idea on how to keep it from sliding down without being noticeable??
