/ audiophilelaws Hello Friends, I am back with a new video. A little story time about finding 3 different copies of Electric Ladyland by Jimmy Hendrix. Feel free to like, comment and subscribe. Thanks everyone!
Absolutely agree with you on the thrill of collecting. Like you said, when you see something like what you did, you immediately know in your heart that you need to buy it now or it will be gone. It's a strange moment when you're in the store. It's almost as if time freezes for a second and it's just you and that record you're holding haha. Anyways, it's always great to see your videos. Have a good one man!
"The Thrill" Yesterday I found the first album of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks (1973). I had not planned at first to go to a vinyl sale (sometimes we have to be reasonable haha). Only 20 euros in my pocket ... BOOM first french pressing (cover Vg ++ / record EX). The thrill !!!! :D Glad to see you back! And oh yeah ! Great great finds! Have a great week.
Es ist doch fantastisch diese 40-50 Jahre alten Schätze in so einem tollen Zustand zu finden. Das macht das Plattensammeln aus. Keep on diggin...Danke für dieses schöne video🙏🏾
Always enjoy watching your videos - your passion for our hobby comes across so well. Great finds - like you said that's so much better than just buying direct off the web (and lets face it, we all love those coming through the post as well!)
Love your channel, you're always so enthusiastic. I buy and sell online to pay my bills, and I do most of it at thrift stores. So I know what you're talking about, sometimes I just have a feeling that I need to go somewhere. One particular time it was when I had about 15 min of time before I needed to go to work. I ended up calling in late, because I found so much good stuff that I couldn't leave without a thorough search. Spent 27 bucks, made over 1200 on it all. One other instance was a feeling right before bed. I checked local online ads for LEGO, and caught a newly posted ad that ended up being another 4 figure score. Thanks for your story! Hope you do more of these!
Armien. I´ m big Hendrix fan. I like that you so young have such a good taste in music, you collect so many vinyls and you listen so many genres. Great.
Armien that was a very cool story to this day Electric Ladyland is my favorite Jimi album his playing his influences all displayed on this double album I have a late 70s nude Japanese press one of the first records I started collecting I hope one day I find a German copy or original UK on Track you have some gems in your collection. lovellandrew
Great to see that you are making videos again , I missed watching them. What a killer score on that Electric Lady land ! Once in a life time ! I love the European presses that are laminated. Take care
welcome back armien. great two videos. got the beard thang going hey brother. always do a great job on videos. love jimi hendrix music. great again. mike from canada eh
Your timing....I was talking to myself while looking at my Hendrix vinyl yesterday, and said I have to still get those first two and that nude cover. Yes the thrill, but, the places around here will NOT have these at any reasonable price....we are getting so saturated here with vinyl sellers wanting to make a buck. 90% of the tag sale / flea market folks even now look up the prices to sell. As you said there is still a thrill of the search. Steve
I totally know what you mean. Actually it's the same here. You just need to know the right places and I think you also need big luck finding rare stuff. The "golden" flea market years are over. Thanks for watching, Steve :)
One of my greatest collecting regrets was passing up a mint nude cover. I was on vacation in France and we were walking through a flea market in the town square of Aix. I stopped at a record vender and just like your story one of the first records I see is the nude cover of Electric Ladyland. I could not believe it - I'd never seen one in person. Of all people, my mother offered to buy it for me because my birthday was the following week. I walked away because I thought it would be odd walking around with it all day long, and showing my kids, nieces, nephews what I had bought. The price was approximately $30, and the condition was so good that I thought it had to be a re-release of some kind, and that I'd be able to find one on-line.
In the US, the cover is reversed - his face s the front and the group is on the back with the writing (which never made sense). The inside is different, though - there are lots of pics inside on the US (like Blonde on Blonde).
dixielandfarm That's america make jimi into frontman Black Elvis) .Forget about noel n Mitch. Once During a recording (electrick landlady) studio. Noel sat down to take break (people inside studio asked" Who the fuck are you? Just the bass player" Noel replied . Noel applied for odd jobs where he wasn't wanted .. Haha laughing! Hendrix management sent money Bahamas CIA haha.
Ever since I saw this, I wanted to get my hands on the nude cover version. Last weekend I was at Mauerpark (Berlin). Every record stand had this version...one even as a unofficial picture vinyl disc. Unfortunately the cover was pretty pixled, plus dude wanted 50 Euros (sealed). I then got it in mint from another stand for 35€... Sounds the same as my new 180g German re-issue... Keep on keepin on... Now I need to find the Are You Experienced US, since I heard the songs are somewhat different...
@@AudiophileLaws Cry of love, Rainbow bridge ( or first ray of the new rising sun), and live albums BBC sessions, In the West, Jimi Hendrix concerts and Winterland, Royal Albert Hall are essential as well in my opinion.
