I came here searching for how to do this to my scooter. Usually when people talk a lot I forward past it but I am so inti this video. I am totally vibing with your awesome personality. Btw I didn't know you could get an umbrella cover for a scooter. Thanks so much for that information.
I'm about to wrap parts of my Vespa. Just trying to cover some minor scrapes that piss me off. And to be more reflective. Even the wrinkles on this, help with visibility , so you did fine .
Just tell people that your scooter has wrinkles because of old age. " yeah, she's over a year old, you know how it is " ;).. you did a lot better than I would have if I attempted a vinyl wrap.
Definitely some dedicated subscribers. It seems no matter what you do many will love it. YES, you did try it & yes you did not give up. In the end it was hideous. I am just suggesting some honest comments.
I am shopping for a cali or havana classic right now. I expect to go buy one tomorrow. Probably the Havana. I was interested in seeing how easy it was to wrap it with a choice color scheme. I was quite delighted that you were trying to wrap the very bike i'm looking for. It looks pretty difficult. I guess this is why professionals get paid professional money.

I recently bough a white Vespa Primavera and I want to personalise is with a Star Trek Theme. Now I already though of getting Vinyl Wrap / decal sticker with the image of a galaxy or nebula / universe ish thing. That would look amazing. Issue is though I don't have a heat gun and even though I am a woman, I never use a hair dryer and don't own one, loool. Soooo maybe with darker galaxy vinyl the wrinkles won't be visible that much.
I have an ex that used to make and sell signage and decals as a business. And one thing I remember he used like all the time was a dish soap and water solution(I don’t remember the proportions but it was like a just a few drops of soap. Dawn specifically) in a spray bottle. On large designs he would lightly spray the surface the vinyl was gonna go on and also very lightly spray the sticky side of the vinyl too. This would keep the vinyl from sticking to the surface so that adjustments could be made. It didn’t affect the stick of the vinyl overall. Also masking tape on the top of the vinyl so you don’t have to worry about damaging the vinyl during installation. You can get masking tape in gigantic rolls like 3ft wide. Bigger, I’m sure. But the dish soap solution and the masking tape made putting vinyl on things (I say things, but I mean shapes. If that makes sense.) they made it a lot easier than one would expect. The heat gun would usually be the last resort to fix that one bubble around a the tiniest curve that just wasn’t cooperating.
Well overall the look is great. 2 tone really gives it the one off look. The only item you left out is window cleaner. Spray can style is easier. You basicly "float" the decal use spreader to push out air and work wrinkles out finish with heat if it needs it. You can and will get the right look that way on your second try! No doubt about that! Most dieffintly worth doing again! Do a small spot to see how easy and great the results will be! Just spray spot down lay decal and work center out to edge. Don't worry if you use to much you just keep working it it will settle and again if need be use a little heat. But I am sure that Texas sun will finish it off fine to. Enjoy look forward to see second shot at it, way cheaper than a paint job and easy to change look as go!
Oh I did that vinyl have clear plastic over it? leave that on till done so you don't scratch the finish on the finish side as you use spreader. And if the pros can do it so can you. You have already proving your skill set for style and looks . You are more of an artist than you think. Jessie James style! You do what feels right. Indian Larry could see the look and chase after it. Bring to scooters what they brought to motorcycles!
you should up grade to a loud muffler like i did it will sound so much better then the stock muffler my muffler cost $50 dollars it would sound loud going down the street my muffler matches with my scooter it's in silver same color as my scooter cool video what you doing to your scooter
ok I'm just going to say this much the front grill you did first looks good so stay with that and maybe use it on the trim parts of Ramen's frame but the hole back looks a little to much but hay that's me and she's your scoot great, video little sis
This is something I've been considering doing for a long while now. My burgman already has a custom vinyl seat, instrument cluster and powder coated wheels so figured why not match the bodywork and be more easily seen. But, using vinyls such as 3M, oracal, etc from Metro Restyling. I've used their brushed metal look on my prior ride before so can attest to the quality. burgmanusa.com/gallery/TechArtGuy/650stuff/650customized/DSCF4034.jpg.html- Sir burg
