Yeah - just leave the HDR on during the day too so that I don't have to think about it. From this test I did think the plate readability difference was mostly negligible.
60fps also means faster shutter speed at night. So higher ISO - higher noise - probably heavier denoising - less details. I just got this camera and I'm surprised there is no 25fps option (in a PAL country). This is quite annoying for me as i sometimes mix dashcam videos in my vacation videos... (which i shoot in 25fps)
Hello, I've watched your several videos on Viofo dash cams and I've found them really informative. I would love to get your advice on which dash cam to get. I recently bought my own car and want to use dash cam just in case. Never used dash cams and thankfully never needed to use one before but I wanted to make sure that I am protected in case it is required. Initially I considered what I would (I guess) call average grade dash cams 360 HK30, 360 G300 and several others. But eventually I think I'm leaning more towards a higher quality product Viofo to make sure it lasts. I'm very inclined to purchase A119 Mini-2 HDR but would love to hear your opinion and/or suggestions. Thank you for greatly informative and detailed videos.
Would 1080p or 1440p with HDR and(!) 60 FPS be good if any dashcam is even capable of those settings? Is there even a dashcam out there that makes readable plates at higher speeds and at night too?
I had this same question:) Would like to see if there is a difference with it on. What do you think, better/worse clarity on license plates with cpl on with HDR or 60fps?
@@remingtonsteele8779 the cpl filter makes a huge difference in terms of reflections. My current car is super reflective even though the dash is black. It does make a bit of difference for license plate readability. Since it reduces the light input, plates are harder to read in sunset or dim light. But also because it reduces glare, they're easier to read in daylight. So it's kind of a good trade off imo
