Synopsis of Violet Evergarden ヴァイオレット・エヴァーガーデン
The Great War finally came to an end after four long years of conflict; fractured in two, the continent of Telesis slowly began to flourish once again. Caught up in the bloodshed was Violet Evergarden, a young girl raised for the sole purpose of decimating enemy lines. Hospitalized and maimed in a bloody skirmish during the War's final leg, she was left with only words from the person she held dearest, but with no understanding of their meaning.
Recovering from her wounds, Violet starts a new life working at CH Postal Services after a falling out with her new intended guardian family. There, she witnesses by pure chance the work of an "Auto Memory Doll," amanuenses that transcribe people's thoughts and feelings into words on paper. Moved by the notion, Violet begins work as an Auto Memory Doll, a trade that will take her on an adventure, one that will reshape the lives of her clients and hopefully lead to self-discovery.

how to kill your audience in 23 minutes 1. develop characters 2.make characters relateble and understandable 3.present the inescapable fate of one of the characters 4.play the ending scene with the conclusion of the character's fate. 5.make your main character cry out of empihy. congrats! your killed them with your tears!

This episode smacked me really damn hard. My mother is sick with an incurable disease, not only incurable but she has limited time here. Both her and my father might never see me graduate college, start a business, get married, everything. Watching Ann cry over her mother felt like a gut punch and I know for a fuckin fact every single grown man I've watched react to this sobbed so I am not ashamed to weep.

I am with you. This anime was emiting when my mother was alive, but sick with cancer, emotions on that time and now that she is no longer with me are totally diferent, but still makes me cry everytime I watch this part. Make everyday count, talk to her, try to have less regrets as posible (sadly your mind will always find a way to hurt you), if you talked about doing something do it now dont wait until she is "better" because maybe that time wont come at least it didnt for me.

Dude I didn't cry becuase I got the feeling that the mother really hated her daughter and hired violet to have an excuse to not have to deal with her and send threatening letters to the father. I know that's not what happened but I laughed all the way through the episode thinking about it. I actually did get the feels during violet's little speech about some things being unchangeable, especially when she mentioned that her arms will never be warm again. idk it's little things like that that get to me.

My favourite Violet Evergarden episode. All the other episode made me feel, and I wanted to cry with them but couldn't. But this episode finally made me cry on how beautiful it was.

I always imagine since violet is like a bubble episode/each episode is it's own story, I always think to myself, since it sets in victorian looking era...."what if Violet Evergarden were a movie from the early 1900, filmed in black and white, with early sound movie technology, or simply a text/title card type of silent movie with a live band playing the music and sound effect like a drama on stage or slightly modern with the use of subtitle, even if there's still no sound, just mouth movement, what would the 1900 audience react? I bet they all will cry after watching a 20/30 minutes movie this beautiful and sad to be honest" movies in the early days is short, usualy lasted from around 10-15 minutes, so 30 minutes is like a beauty if the movie is exactly like Violet Evergarden accept being shot in black and white. Just imagine their reaction! it probably will get a review in the newspaper with a title like "The most beautiful heart wrenching story ever told". I even imagine if the movies were using a title card, the title card of the narrator at the opening says "Today we are about to look at the story of a typewriter and a little girl...The story that cause some laugh...And perhaps some tears too..."

A loved one will always watch over you. I broke down at episode 7 but this episode punched me so hard in the heart i could not stop crying. Man all the episodes made me cry from episode 7 to 13 except for episode 12 that was really cool.

This Episode actually Affected me alot worse than it should have because when i was very young my Grandmother actually wrote some poems and letters when i was unwell, she passed away when i was around 12, several years later when i was 17 i found one of the old letters in a large keepsake box. Im now 26 and watching this scene reminds me alot of that moment and what it ment to me. I Cant wait for the movie to come to the west soon

Episode 10 was the one that made my just start crying uncontrollably, because at the time, my mother had been diagnoses with cancer. I've always been a crybaby when it comes to sad family stuff, but this one just hit way too hard. At the end, it ended up being a false alarm, but I was really scared
