I love your delivery and the density of the information! There can be so much fluff in some creators videos but this is all 100% worth my time, start to finish. Thank you, you're a good teacher.
Our front yard is full of these. I used an app to identify it. This is helpful in confirming the identification. Did not know they were edible. Salad coming up!
this helped a lot with understanding violets! i already knew about it being edible, and drank a tea made with it as i watched this, but i had no clue it was so nutrient rich and medicinally useful. thanks!
I am so ready for the arrival of early spring's green blessings! Violets are one of my favorites, I love their cheerful, purple and white blossoms and enjoy eating and harvesting them. Thanks for this wonderful video in the midst of winter's snow and ice....Green Blessings!
Omg your so pretty, thanks for this really detailed information on taste and touch. Super helpful to know what to look for in classification of a plant.
Mostly, I love eating them in salad and wild green pesto (pesto master recipe / technique in this video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7RIlf2TzAHE.html) Topically, I use them as a cooling, drawing poultice (technique in this video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w0xD42y_fr4.html)
I’ve read there are several varieties of violet. Do the attributes extend to the lot? I really enjoy the way you present and layout the information. Thank you.
It's almost December and these guys JUST popped up in my backyard! I'm so excited! I am going to wait until flowers form to be sure what I have is the Viola, but the leaves look exactly like this. I'm gonna do the squish test to see what happens. I'm in zone 8b, which has just changed from 8a according to the Hardiness Map update. I'm hoping they survived our first frost which was last night. Thank you for this video :)
Dina I am interested in learning more. At present am seeking to keep breast cancer in check until I have cleansed and rid my body of it. Is violet tincture beneficial for this? I was thinking you were recommending it as a poultice? Thanks. I hope I can join your class at some point. I realized this video is it states 2 years ago. 😌👉💫
Hello Cherie, thanks for asking. Your question is best answered by a holistic health care provider who can work with you in person, so they can tailor foods, herbs, and lifestyle to your specific needs. Still, my preferred way to get the benefits of violet is by eating it (perhaps you'd like to do this too). As a poultice I find it helpful for soothing and cooling topical skin issues. Sending healing wishes.
@@DinaFalconi thanks for such promptness. You are fabulous in your videos; secure in your knowledge. Thus naturally inspirational I am eager to learn more. I have no dr. so am putting together a plan for myself. Learning a lot and hope to inspire anyone who wants to heal. Am grateful for your wisdom and would love. to eat and add to salad. Hope to join class soon.
I have a huge batch I've been clearing by front windows so I get mainy violet only in the spring. I'm good on the flowers but was looking for more on the leaves. Thanks.
Wonderful video and insight! Mine grows low to the ground and doesn't have long stems. Maybe the location they are in; a shaded area. The leaves and flowers are sweet and I love eating both. Thank you Dina!
🙂 @Dina Falconi Yes, Viola sororia; grows wild here in the sand hills of NC. Just like the ones you featured but does not grow as tall, at least my patch doesn't; I eat it raw and leaves never get real big either. Hubby mows over some of the patch in late summer and it grows back even better the next year. One of my favorite wild edibles. I have discovered over 17 different wild edibles and medicinal wild herbs on my property. I also grow many of the well known herbs in my garden.
Thank you so much for such informative videos! I have viola primulifolia here in the New Orleans area. Does this information apply the same to these violets?
