your old beginner videos taught me sooo much, I ended up playing in a philharmonic orchestra in my town! thank you very much! It's nice to see you still active
And of course there’s the old line, “You paid for the whole bow. You might as well use it.” Always liked that. Thank you always for your videos. I appreciate your calm, thoughtful approach.
Are bows with a full metal frog mount always higher level than bows with a plain frog and no metal mount? Is it correct to assume generally that a bow with a fully metal mounted frog is better than one without metal mounting on the frog?
The bows that have a metal ferrule, then the slide, followed by a final metal mounting that wraps around the bottom to the back are of a higher quality than bows that just follow the slide with a wood corner. I did own a French carbon fiber bow without the metal plate, but it was unusual, and slanted at the end. Highly stylized. Not a bad bow at all.
Thank you. Going to try this. Until recently I didn’t have little finger in the right place. Discovered it needs to be on top of the stick but just on the octagonal side so it doesn’t fall off at the heel. Also I found recently that using the wrist only to do string crossings helps. Practising both down and up bow starting on the upper of two open strings (A and D) say. Thank you Prof V
Hi ProfV! It has been 15 years since I took violin and I just want to let you know that you've been with me since Day 1 and I'm now playing Summer by Vivaldi at 90bpm. Thank you so much! Love from PH!
Dear Professor, regards from India,I have referred to all of your teaching videos of many years for my daughter of 10 yrs, those are just priceless,I have observed that when she is trying to change the contact points of bow for variations in tone production from bridge to fingerboard the movements creating breathy sound and not generating smoothness, how to handle this?hope i could make the point..if you give some solution would be grateful. 🙏
Hello! I talked about the technique that might help you in this video, beginning at 1:00. I hope it helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IQL4jX7vLxQ.html
Hi Mr. Ehle. May I ask one thing? May you share a video about how we can play every double harmonics, tips and tricks, please? Because I understand you better than other teachers. Thank you so much.
