@@hossel1079 that's not a leap for strike, but a leap to threaten you that you are at his mercy & he can think otherwise too. You're not his food, it doesn't want to expend his precious venom on you unless its do or die, then he might've injected all of it at once leaving a human dead within an hour or two. If the viper strikes a human or any non edible prey with all its venom, the viper himself can even die because he doesn't have enough venom to kill its prey for a long time to come, a human attack has consequences for him to face. Now this is my wild guess, the viper himself knows that he camouflages and you must have stepped by mistake, that's why he didn't decide to kill you. Next time on terrains watch what you're stepping on... easier said than done. So avoid hiking at nights or super early in the morning. Don't stop hiking because of snakes. Just be careful.

Lady Viper actually Indian people are black people as being "black" refers to a race, now Indian is actually a nationality and could be used to describe anybody that is a citizen/born there, and what tends to divide people is ethnicities or groups that people associate themselves with In actuality theres really only two *race's* black and white, now your instinct might say people of hispanic origin or chinese arent black or white but that wouldnt be true a hispanic person could be from mexico or a country in south american but they are called that because it refers to their ethnicity but in reality any hispanic person comes from Europe (mainly Spain) because thats where the kings and queens resided before they wanted to explore the far west, and same thing with chinese or any other asian, but their situation is a little different becasue they are black people, but they have different facial feautures than most because of genetic mutations, im sure u could find many black people that have slanted eyes or slightly smaller noses, thats because there were tribes of black people in africa (with melanated skin) that today would be called asian because of their face, you can do your own independent research on all of this im not gonna go too far on this because i know true identity is a very sensitive and triggerable topic for people

You are right. This is why it aimed that bad. Although it still got it, but normally they are much faster and aim perfectly. I catched an european adder few years ago and it was freaking fast, I think it was the fastest reflex I ever put out (I was aware that it will strike at me) still it almost got me. It even touched my finger. Still managed to catch it to show it to my brother, but I was way more careful after that. After this incident, I am pretty sure, if it really would have been 100% determined to strike at me, it would have got me. Problem was it was a juvenile (1 ft long) and they give everything they got in case of a bit and they are really fast really pissed. It took me almost 10 minutes of "fight" to catch it without getting bitten (I was amateur so...😅). And this was an adder, they are one of the slower vipers and nothing compared to this one...

Those are the sheaths. The gang itself isn't too big. Gaboon vipers have the longest at 2 inches.

Brandon O'Neal Though from the same family, this snake is far more dangerous than your copperhead. While the copperhead basicaly avoids human interaction and having LD at 100mg, this Russell's viper is extremely aggressive, has very long fangs and LD at 40mg. An adult can deliver 140mg of venom deep into bloodstream per single bite, almost 3 times more than the lethal dose.
