It’s worth noting that no dealer/issuer of any warranty can deny a valid warranty claim simply due to the fact that an accessory was added, provided it’s installed properly.
You are correct with the fact that there is no value added but most people don’t do to add value , also I work for a dealer and no the warranty cannot simply deny claim , they have to prove that the installed aftermarket accessory caused the issue , now we as the dealer can ask to have the accessory in this case the remote start to be removed before diagnosing a car if the issue has to do with some electrical issue that may be affected by this .
Quick question… how long does it run for when your remote start it? And can you adjust the run time to be longer or how many times can you restart it after it cuts off before it won’t restart again without you manually starting it? I’m comparing this against my Honda Accord which will run for 10 minutes in 2 separate remote starts. However after that I must manually start it to reset the counter so I can remote start it again.
Thanks for the video ,Just ordered this from a box store here in BX NYC where it gets cold, not Chicago cold but its bad enough, my question is Do you need to pay a monthly fee for the app ? and hows 'the range on it ? I assume as long as you are close and connected to wifi you can start the car
Your welcome , there is a yearly fee , they have different packaged with different options , and as long as you have cellular service on your phone it will work doesn’t matter how far you are range is unlimited cause signal travels with cellular service like a text or phone call
Thanks for the video is really helpful. I have a question the you pay a subscription for the Viper system to use the remote start in the app, because I use Drone Mobile that I pay monthly $11.99 a remote start and it work sometimes and I’m considering changing to viper.

Well I don’t own the car anymore but I did also get it installed in 2017 we had pathfinder there is a video for that car too , we currently own two cars that come from the factory with this feature in them . But to answer your questions yea as long as we had the system we loved them also my buddy installs these he’s just outside of Chicago in the Evanston area check out the pathfinder video I have his info is there
No after remote start in mine I have to press the push button still , can’t just drive away , in your you still I see the key and turn it to the on position only
We can't set up the duration of the alarm ringtone on the phone app ? it rings something like 4-5 only seconds and then a text message, while my car's alarm system is firing out loudly outside without me being able to hear it from inside where I live. Not very convenient just 4-5 seconds... loll
Nice video. I’m currently waiting at a shop as they are having it installed in my cx9 right now. I hope their are no issues w the app etc w locking and unlocking my car with the app. Going w this because their having a sale and it gives me longer range while I can use my oem fobs
TYVM. I’m sure they did. They helped me set it up and everything which is gd and I had to register the app w my credit card because it gives a 5 yr service and warranty which is great imo. It all cost me $340, and I’m hearing that’s a gd price but idk. I can also use my factory fobs now and start my car which should be standard from the dealer.

So I only have the remote start no actual alarm , and yes the remote start and smart remote start module are separate, also the system goes for $300 and up depends where you buy them and who installs it .

So I have been quoted $425 for a 1-mile range 2-way Viper Remote start system. Is that too much? $250 sounds pretty cheap for wherever you got it done..cuz for the viper smart start system, the person is quoting me upwards of $600 plus I have to pay a yearly subscription fee. So from my understanding, we can have any viper remote start system installed (even the 1-way ones) and all we need extra is the module for the smart start system? In other words, is it only the DS-4 system that needs to be installed or can we install any Viper remote start system?
Do you need anything else to install this remote start ? Because the car needs to detect the key in order to start. So maybe something to bypass the iMobilizer
So there is a subscription you have to pay for to use it , there are i believe 3 levels not sure of the prices , but the top of the line subscription lets you do this .
I have the Nissan Altima with push to start. When I install this does it have to be started with the viper key fob remote? Or can I use the original Nissan key fob to start it as well?
Not much to update on it , it still works , the smart start module itself is $99 ,plus depends the remote start you pick from viper , also some cars can be integrated to your key fob as well , there is a yearly subscription also and has different levels and different prices
I know that every state is different and most laws from what I know are for leaving your car running which keys or unattended , does not really specify remote starts just “car idling unattended “
@@PRviewsvlogs Well when you remote start your car is idling so how is that going to work? I have an aftermarket PKE ( Passive keyless entry) system installed with remote start and it can't be stolen without my fob and if anyone opens the door without the PKE fob the car horn will beep and the car will stop after 30 seconds.
