Very excited to present Vir Das to the TRS audience, he was one of the people who I always wanted to host on TRS, on our original list of potential guests right back in 2019. This conversation was all heart - from USA's comedy culture to Bollywood's future, we covered it all.
Vir Das is an Indian comedian, actor, and musician. After beginning a career in standup comedy, Das moved to Hindi cinema starring in films like Badmaash Company, Delhi Belly, and Go Goa Gone in supporting roles. Successfully completing that phase, he decided to switch to stand-up, but this time on a global level.

Also people need to chill about ranveer, he is one of the top podcasters who continuously makes content to decolonise the culture, you can't start shouting ban/block, opportunist on one content that doesn't play to your interest. Then you're just becoming exactly like the other side which you claim to not be. No matter how much you hate/ disagree with someone, everyone deserves at least one chance to explain themselves, a true mediator should give them that space. Us and them mentality only creates more conflict over time.

Man those were some badly articulated as well as false arguments. He says as a comic what matters is what is funny yet says it is insensitive to call someone a coolie/N Word. Why is then that even comics are not allowed to joke on Western Tragedies? Be it the Holocaust or Slavery etc? People living in the west can demand sensitivity on their issues at the cost of "fun" while Indians in the west claim to be "funny" and hurt sentiments? Coolie is quite an appropriate word for this particular deed. 2:20 🤦🏻‍♂️ Btw Black people call other black people the n word quite commonly - both in affectionate and angry tones. Mr Abhijit Chavda is as Indian as Vir, if not a more aware Indian about historical terms. As far as being threatened goes, everyone - on all sides of the spectrum of fame, people get threatened and online hate - from artists to politicians to I bet even Mr Chavda himself. Playing the victim card is not really a response to a criticism or allegation.
