It gives me immense pleasure in seeing an Indian comic like you who is going around shattering so many preconceived notions and paving a way out in the world for many budding aspiring artists, inspiring them in the right direction and reaching your own heights of hard earned success with humility and gratitude. Such a great conversation between two top professionals. So good to see Vir crushing it, have been a fan and following his journey for way more than a decade now. Looking forward to attending a show whenever he comes to LA next and would even be happy to host him for a meal if he wants home cooked Indian food :) Hope you both keep going from strength to strength!

Being a Person from Bengal, India we grew up with how Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar , Henry Luis Vivian Derozio and others like them made enemies in the society but persisted with their conviction. Today , I do not think Vir Das as only a Comedian even though that is immensely important . I find him hitting the darkness in Indian society and the darkness in the world consistently through laughter. If I look at how many powerful celebrities in India, more powerful than Vir Das is doing it, the number is first very low and second not consistent. Vir is our modern day Rammohan Roy and Kailash Satyarthy with more popularity and name recognition, whose relentless reminders of the darkness in society will someday help change it as he has got the reach and willingness much broader than others. International Platforms line Netflix and RU-vid like Vir himself has acknowledged, much be credited for helping. Thank You!

I remember speaking to him on phone once. He was super nice and polite to a nobody who called him to invite him for an event.

I hate Vir Das cause he often makes sense but his tone sounds like a know it all 80 year old monk while perpetually looking like a 24 year old. Congratulations on the Emmy!

Now everyone wants to grab eyeballs with the Emmy winner, only a handful people called him for his talent when he was getting all the hate in the world.

I think now it is time for @virdas for Field Dream to become reality.

A gentle and humble correction about how tough it is for Comics in India and outside India. In India, Vir is right it is getting tougher for Comics to crack jokes about what they like to create Jokes about. Not so much in the US. We do see Comedians like Bill Mahar of the Daily Show, Connan, and other late night show host Comedians crack jokes on anyone including powerful politicians at the state and national level, the US Supreme Court and taboo topics as well. No one has seen a Police complaints about them. First Amendment of the US constitution is Religion here.

I'm a huge fan of both Vir Das and Faye, I love the fact that he questions the absurdity in India. To me thats what real patriotism is, question the wrong and the BS, for a better tomorrow. Hold them accountable.

Are Award winning comedians felicitated by Government in India?
