South Africa scored only 204 and to defend this very low score, they chose to keep extremely attacking fields like not keeping deep cover point fielder of fast bowlers for a long time even after 10th over, not keeping even basic 3rd man fielder initially and instead going with 2 slips and a gully and keeping mid off fielder instead of long off when spinner Imran Tahir was bowling so Virat made full use of those attacking fields as he was already in great form in that series.
