I like the fusion sound but the guitar tone and what he is playing isnt gelling with the sound and band IMO. I think a more warm guitar tone is needed and less metal sounding. Less chunkity chunk.

But have you heard the record? The Guitar work on "In This Life" is based mainly in metal, both in style and tonality. I agree though, some parts are a bit bright. But its all subjective anyway haha.
