After seeing so many negative reviews, it's so refreshing to hear something positive about Virgin cruise lines. I feel some of the negative things I've heard & seen were a bit nitpicky. And let's not forget that this is the first of Virgin's cruise line to set sail. I'm sure there's lots more to come! Great video guys ❤❤
Speaking as a salad tosser from long ago, I truly appreciated the bit about tossing the salad. It's good to know you can get your salad tossed on Virgin Voyages.
As with any new venture, I'm guessing there will be changes once they get some feedback from customers/ sailors. But I think a lot of the design, menus, and activities look fun! And kudos for the single cabins!👍👍👍
Isn't it wonderful the how cruise industry has an even wider range of choices now. I do prefer a more family oriented experience, but I'm sure that will change as my life changes. The food just looked beyond exceptional!
I am from Miami and I can’t wait to go in this beautiful ship. It’s different and definitely nothing similar to what we have been accustomed to. I love your videos you guys are soo amazing keep up the great job. Hoping we can coincide on a trip one day. Cheers!!!! 😘
Great video guys. It was nice to see someone post some positive things to say about new ship. Many other videos have been a little overly critical I think. I'm sure some of the new things that Virgin tried, may not work for everyone, but it is really nice to see a company try something new. Really from what I've seen, with the exception of limited pool space, I think most complaints are a little picky. Anyway on to your video 😁. Very entertaining, I really love the way you mix blogging with review footage. The whole video is so well done. And the food/drinks on the ship look amazing. Unfortunately weather wasn't cooperating for you, would like to see more open space area, but I think this ship looks like a very unique cruise to try. And there is still the private island that I think will be awesome.
Aw guys your the only cruise bloggers people I’ve seen that actually liked it... The sofa idea is good. There’s seems to be plenty of room there as demonstrated so wonderfully by David... Food looked fab...love the idea of breakfast dessert!!! 👍
I love you two , thank you for taking me on all of your cruises , I have been quarantine since March , and you have saved my life . We lost two Cruises this year hoping to cruise on the Carnival Horizon in March , fingers crossed , Thomas from Fort Lauderdale Florida, 💜
This vlog was an awesome counterpoint to some of the negatively -focused reviews we've seen about this ship. Thank you so much for bringing a fresh perspective and positive attitude to everyone. Yes, this ship and cruise line are definitely not for everyone, but for those looking for something out of the ordinary (IMO some cruise ships are downright boring and drab) this may just be the thing. I'm looking forward to my re-booked trip on August 21st, God willing!!
Your reviews are so valuable to me! I have two VV booked in late 2022 and early 2023 on Valiant and Resilient. I will continue to follow. I love all your exact details you are including!
As far as bed I don't mind that at all. I find myself moving coffee tables and trash cans out of the way to open up the room anyway So this configuration takes care of that.
Love your videos. Even though it was a "sponsored" Cruise I really feel that you guys are a 100% genuine on your review..... I love the energy when watching you guys. You're right it's not going to be for Everybody but then again nothing ever is…
@@Cruisewith I totally agree. I'm a 50yr old cruiser that looses all sense of being an adult with responsibilities when cruising.....no kids is one of my biggest draws to Virgin along with the dining and drink options being included. I love quirky too👍👍....thanks for the honesty
Love this series of vlogs. You two are so fun! My husband and I are really enjoying them. We've only done Disney Cruises(just the two of us) so it's nice to see other cruiselines.
OMG I love you guys! I am thinking about taking my very first cruise in a couple years, after watching your videos it's def. gonna be on Virgin. Some of the other lines - like P&O or Viking seem a bit stuffy, but Virgin looks so hip, young, and modern!
Thank you for the videos. We are on a June 26th sailing. I think the right people for this cruise are people like my wife and I...lol...we are doing a rockstar suite cause it is my birthday. Whoop whoop.
I love you both. You are both adorable in so many ways. I so appreciate your review. The Scarlet Lady is not the ship for me but you guys did such an amazing job! Thank you!!!
We love your vlogs guys, so informative and you keep it real. So after watching your Scarlet Lady vlog, we're looking at booking a transatlatic cruise with Virgin instead of Celebrity next year. Sorry Celebrity 🙈 The food looks exceptional. Did you have to book all your dining in the restaurants, or is there a walk-in option available?
I absolutely love your take on Scarlet Lady, we were supposed to experience her ourselves this weekend but they cancelled their NYC Stop. This was amazing! Thank you! ~Marilyn
The breakfast looks AMAZING!!! I love Eggs Benedict and the ones I've had on ships were often lacking. I'm thinking that Virgin would be a great option.
There is precisely nothing appealing about that ship at all. Great vid chaps, but the more I see of SL, the less I want to have anything to do with it.
The entertainment aspect is 🥴.... 😬 Giving me Disney improv vibes, like I just met a character. Very weird. Edit: Why would they make the cutlery look disposable? I thought it was until I heard a few clinks.
Some of the entertainment seemed like "a little goes a long way" - lol. Love the single traveler room. Cruise ships need much more of that. It looks like a great ship and they are definitely trying new ideas and things. Still not sure about the line as a whole. So much of the marketing I've seen looks so skewed toward just a much younger market exclusively and I wouldn't want to feel out of place.
Very good video. Food looks great...Bathroom looks way to small and there should be a real bed in there and a sofa like you said...Definitely not a cruise ship for everyone but all the ships have their own personality...thanks for the video.
I was super excited about this ship but the standard cabins and pool deck are terrible! The price point is already high for short sailings so trying to convince my clients or myself to upgrade would be tough. The dining looks amazing and so do many of the public areas. But, I see major changes happening on this ship in order for the line to be successful. I have so many clients that love the thought of an adults only ship. But this ship seems to be catering more towards a more "eclectic" type of client. It is certainly LGBT friendly, which is a great thing.I just don't think it's enough to keep it afloat.
Me again! I LOVE your videos, but it would be great to know which cruises on which dates, and where, if anywhere, they go. Did Virgin leave port? Your itineraries are important. (And that's not a euphemism!)
Agreed, it would be nice to have a sofa and maybe some artwork in the staterooms as well. I don’t know, it’s just not my vibe 🤷🏻♀️ I really enjoy artwork on cruises and so far, I’m just not seeing much of that on The Scarlet Lady. I do appreciate the mirror work and some of the lighting, but I miss the art and statues. What do their daily activities look like? Do they have something like a Cruise Compass or Fun Times? Bingo? Classes to take? Seminars? Etc?
Although overall I don’t think this is our type of cruise , I’m surprised at how much I’ve been impressed with some of the food , restaurants that you have shown . The entertainment definitely looks iffy and the cabins , but I think we’re just too old and boring it 49/47 for this lol 😝. Really enjoyed your video though, as always !!
My fella and I are 48, and are mostly boring geezers who Nexflix and zzzzz a lot. But I think this ship would knock us out of out comfort zone. In a good way! ❤️❤️
Julie Wilson we’re in our 60’s and booked for August. We figure, we’ll hang on Richards Rooftop...eat some great food and see some new things. If things are “weird for us” we’ll hang somewhere else on the ship! And eat ice cream! 😂
Food looks amazing, I don't think I'd ever get out of the free arcade, "regular cabins" look like closets, entertainment - different. In the end need I guess they accomplished what they wanted, this is NOT for everyone.
I mean this with 100% respect (and also aware it might be personal) but David, do you find that you are more comfortable in your own skin or expressing your feminine side as time goes on? I don’t want to make you feel self-conscious but I watched a 3 year old video and at the time you presented more traditionally masculine. I mean it as a compliment, I hope you feel more free to be yourself. In any case I really enjoy your videos and the fun positive energy you bring!
You guys make great videos! That being said I don't think this would be for me. The ship just feels very uninviting and the lack of a decent pool is an absolute killer for me.
The entertainment seemed indeed... avant garde? Idiosyncratic with that Virgin vibe? Designed to terrify introverts? Just plain weird? That solo cabin looked promising so I'll have to look for a proper cabin tour of it - hoping that like the NCL Studio cabin, it lives much bigger than it actually is. That affogato dessert looked amazing, OMG...
I hated everything about the traditional cruise I went on last September. From the plastic cups to the screaming kids, I hated every single moment of that ship. I hated the boring, bland, overly salted main dining option. I hated that I had to spend an extra $300 for a drink package just to have soda and coffee. I hated the boring hospital-waiting-lounge decor. I hated the stupid waterslide looming over the top like a genital wart. I hated the tiny pool overflowing with toddlers and parents, even though there was a separate area for them. I hate traditional cruise ships. This ship though? This ship is gonna get all my money. All of it.
I think this ship was built for people like you (traditional cruisers don't seem to get that though). I have 2 small kids so I won't be sailing on this any time soon. 🙂
You obviously don’t have children, do you, if you speak about them in such a derogatory way. Surely this ship will attract many people like you....at least we won’t have to see your full of hatred face on the traditional cruises!
The biggest draw for me is "adults only" part nothing against children but sometimes you just want an escape. Virgin seems to be "trying" really hard to be novel and unconventional so things like the entertainment & decor seem forced. I can see some of the LGBT cruise groups booking this ship as well. Glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
Pizza looked delish. Cheers. Food looked great. I would say as a female who will need more space makeup etc. plus I am black woman with natural hair so I have particular hair care products the storage is concerning. The dinner looked amazing.
Fake news. At the time of this cruise which was over a month ago there was no such advice. Even today it's only recommended over 70s or those with pre existing health conditions don't travel. So thank you for your helpful post.
Food in sit down restaurants looks awesome but pizza/salad wasn't anything special. Love that the solo cabins actually have a fairly small single supplement (compared to the pp price on other twin cabins) like they are supposed to be (only 18-20%) for Valiant Lady. But at £1335+ for 7 nights, even with some extras like 'speciality' dining included they will have to do much more to convince me to spend that kind of money.
Pros and cons but overall I don't think for me. But then I've always found Virgin a bit cringey and over the top. Having said this, they are virgin cruising 😉 so I'm sure there's a lot of teething to go yet All the same, thanks for doing these videos - gives us all an idea of whether it's a good fit. (Having said this, I did love the look of that retro arcade & social space - if I ever did this ship I'd probably just spend all my time there!)
It is interesting although definitely not for us. A lot of high gloss, shiny surfaces and with the exception of miles of marble in the bathrooms, looks a wee bit cheap. Of course with Covid 19 going around we wont have to worry about it for a few months. You guys are fun to watch though. The street performers..... annoying. Food sounds great if a bit pedestrian.
Hi John, Our format has not changed. We genuinely had a good experience on Scarlet Lady but we know this ship is not for everyone. Virgin Voyages and Vision Cruise have no control over our content. We received no gifts for this video. We were invited by Virgin Voyages to the media and travel agent event along with everyone else on this sailing. Without the invitation, we would not be able to bring you any of this content from Scarlet Lady. In addition, our sponsorship with Vision Cruise allows us to keep producing content. While we do get invited to events we pay for cruises ourselves too. We also have to cover all travel costs to and from events, hotels, equipment and software costs, and living costs. This channel is expensive to run and unfortunately, RU-vid advertising alone is not enough to sustain a full-time wage. We hope you continue to enjoy our videos. Thanks :-)
Cruise with Ben & David I have always found you to focus on what is good and positive while peppering in a few honest truths. I appreciate your infectious joy at whatever the experience. Thank you for choosing to look at the bright side of life.
I see no difference from your previous videos! I really love your channel because you are lovely lads and always seem to have so much fun! This ship is not for my husband and I, (we’re getting on a bit) but I can see how younger folks like you two could have a really good time on her. Thanks for this review, and keep up the good work! ❤️
Hi Guys, used to love your blogs/vids but why would we take cruise review advice when you are clearly being sponsored by the cruise line " visit our sponsor Vision Cruise to get a FREE quote on your next cruise" and you are clearly encouraged and allowed access with information from the cruise line about background off limit access to cabins and areas on the Virgin Scarlet love-in?
