That's cause the cpu reacts to the button inputs instead of the character animations. So it knows what your character is going to do before they can get the move out.
Doesn't look like this is the hardest difficulty at all. I don't remember them this WEAK. He doesn't even show configuring it on the settings as well. On harder difficulty they're much more aggressive. Lau/Pai would barrage you with sweep finishers. Kagemaru would be tossing you like a volleyball and catching you with sliding flip kick when you hit the ground. And hoo boi god have mercy on you when you reach Akira. These here barely react. I'd have believed it was the hardest difficulty if he chose expert mode
@@tyreepowell8367 He definitely has. Mastering anyone in this game also involved timing and anticipation. Unlike street fighter which was basic to special moves and combos.
Love it. VF2 Akira-guy myself. Playing against friends or friends of back in the day.... You'd just let them assume you're only a drunk monk or praying mantis the first time then you go full Akira on them.
it's the stomach.the stun palm and backward uppercut in this case was executed with the enemy infront but best use surprised exchange,then backward uppercut
That throw leads to a guaranteed victory btw, it has no start-up animation and you can't tech it, the only reason I didn't lose that round was because the A.I decided to not attack for some reason, sometimes the A.I does attack with a pounce (Up+Punch) which kills after the throw.
@@donaldson9410 Yep. This move is to Jeffry what the Spinning Piledriver is to Zangief from Street Fighter. It is undoubtedly Jeffry's most devastating throw, and when combo'd in from a Toe Kick (a.k.a. Toe Kick of Doom), it is absurdly easy to perform.
Akira was really hard to learn in terms of picking up all the counters, but in my teen years I got him down.... used to switch between him and Kage and dominate everyone at the arcade lol.... Akira was insanely powerful if you knew what you were doing, but it had a reasonable chance to backfire if your timing was off... I've since forgotten all the moves and how to play this game effectively, lol... I could probably make do with Kage after a few hours.
What is the command to escape throw please? I do not remember because it’s been a while since I played this a lot in saturn days! Yes on the beggining I thought it was TAS but after some rounds you got hit by CPU and I understood it was a honest gameplay!! Hahaha
Would never consider VF AI fun to play against: CPU reads inputs, reacts to fastest moves, switches attack directions and uses every available move with deadly precision, yet here you are, beating it in a few minutes!
@@LordRaptor it worked at first when I did it it against the first guy, but I can't get it to work against Pai. I'm playing this on an arcade in the game "Judgment." I got stuck on Kage and then gave up. Now I'm trying it again. I need to beat all the stages, but hopefully I can retry on Dural if I lose. I know that's not the case with VF5.
@@LordYggdrasill As you can see, this throw is very effective because it gives you a free follow-up and in VF2, the only breakable throws are the generic P&G throws, so you can trick the cheap A.I by running back and forth and then immediately throwing them. oh and btw, you can never continue on Dural, it's a bonus stage so you can only fight her once, it's been that way from VF1 to Ultimate Showdown.
@@LordRaptor I made it back to Kage again, but I can't seem to do that reversal move on anyone. It's like they either dodge the move, or I'm not inputting the command correctly. I think this arcade defaults to the hardest difficulty, but you don't seem to have any problems executing that move. Not sure what's going on.
