Hey Mike, I completely agree with the multi cues, you would think the software would have caught up by now.. One song that comes to mind is Thriller....could work the lights and then automatically start fog machines etc...then have the option to save the cues so whenever we have the setup and play that song, it automatically does the light show.
This is really cool! Are you running both programs on the same laptop? I would think it would slow down each program. Can you have the lighting control on a different laptop and link it with a wireless router? This is awesome technology, and exactly what I have been looking for.
so If i have this right you could leave the first three hot cues for your audio mixing(for when not full light set up or different situations and by pressing and holding ctrl on keyboard then hit number keys 4-9 across the top of keyboard then you can set loads of cue points for DMX regardless of how many are on the VDJ skin Then use Alt and the number keys to activate those extra hot cues or just let the song play .. If i have it right this is awesome!
I mostly use a midi controller with showxpress to trigger my scenes, but I was so excited when I saw this video because I would like to use this feature on certain songs. Will these lighting cues override the scenes I have manually triggered when I play the particular songs I have set these lighting hot cues for?
Something I've been trying to figure out is how you would run multiple lights at once, do you have to go from the USB to dmx converter to a controller or is there a multi dmx out device so I don't have to spend $200 on a full analogue controller?

Looks great BUT if im cuing up another song in the other deck that has these DMX triggers on, is it going to effect the light show when i dont want it to?

Hey mike great video but another oerson asked about both programs together I was told not to run VDJ and Show Express together due the power draw on both. Also in my show I run the DJIO also I eould think that eould be to much of a power draw . Can you tell me you think is the best way??? DJ Magic Mark
