VIRTUAL PINBALL VS REAL

With VPX the lighting and graphics have become an insanely amount better. Some of the new renderings look better than the original!

The physics of the Virtual Pinball are too smooth , especially the ball . When you play a Real Pinball you feel the difference .

real pinball looks feels and plays better , but you are stuck with one style of machine

Biggest drawback is depth. It is rather jarring if you go from playing a lot of VP to an actual cabinet. The physics as have been stated are also very smooth and linear. It is very easy to create replicatable patterns of ball movement. Still, loving virtual pinball. Excellent for learning how to build score and learn table rules and it's just fun albeit in its own way.

Virtual looks dam good. Cool side by side man. Virtual ones ball always seems to track funny or leave "trails".

last night I played a real pinball for 3 hours... One table for an hour.. I came home... I played the same table in virtual on a small 24 inch 240hz monitor in portrait mode.... It's close enough now... it doesn't matter... I think the virtual wins in that it will play perfect and requires no maintenance...

I own a real Voltaire. And I have the virtual one. If you don't move your head they LOOK almost identical. But, nothing beats a real 3d real life machine. I still marvel at how good the virtual ones are. Real ones get expensive as heck as you buy more and try to sell them for what you got in them, mods and upgrades and cleaning. Look at NAMSAN Voltaire and see top notch real Voltaire!

Were the programmers allowed access to the real machine before programming the damn thing? They’re like night and day.... pretty much.

graphics look that much sharper on the real pinball version anyone can give a download link?

If you can afford money and space, even only 1 real pin is such a great thing. The phisics can be emulated and ok now we got 4k, but a real pinball lover would stick to the real thing. Some virtual cabs are pretty amazing by the way- It's something I could consider but a very well done virtua cab costs perhaps more than a low priced real one. You can find cool pins nowadays for less than 2000$.

The real pinball is more exiting than the virtual pinball and it has an excellent graphic!!!

Wood grain and chrome on the real is noticeable. The shadowing helps out the real table as well. You can tell the back light glass from the gfx. I think you could get there on the virtual on with a few changes.

Real darker table looks best. Maintaining tables way different.

If they could get the flipper sound and the cabinet feeling when things pop it'd be 100

the guys that created this and future pinball are brilliant. i only enjoy them on an upright arcade cabinet so it is scrunched or scrolling which is okay. i wish i could get pinball cabinet with a long wide tv. that would be at least another $1300.. my 3 year old arcade cab is still in my credit card debt somewhere

bought a real pinball and you will see all differences...sounds, touch, sense, and sometimes smell of a burned coil. I bought my first pinball last year for the price of a Pc gamer and I spend much time to play on my pin than on my computer. Not really hard to repair you can find help on internet. the only choice for a virtual one is the size, and the possibility to play rare pinball like the Big Bang Bar

The biggest problem on virtual pinballs is the lag on flippers.

No pinball emulator or even pinball arcade / pinball fx3 has ever been able to get the flipper sounds right....idk why

I can't wait till the graphics and physics are so good you can't tell the difference. We're not there yet.

Virtual pinball is nice if you cannot afford or reach any real machines, but I don't think anything can beat the real thing.

With the really good VisPin tables, you can't really tell the difference just by looking. Now I'll be the first to admit that playing a real pinball machine will always trump a digital recreation, but the sad fact is that most of us, myself included, can't afford to buy a real pinball machine. Visual Pinball costs nothing, and there are some really talented people out there who have made great digital recreations of pinball machines that not only look, but play virtually identically to the real thing. You can have as many tables as you've got disk space for, you don't have to worry about maintaining them, and you've got an endless supply of virtual quarters, so you can play as long as you want to, and you can take your tables with you wherever you go.

I have 70 tables on my PS Vita love the real but really love virtual because I own all the tables I used to play and dont need a big ass building to do so. Very Loow Maintenance no money necessary. Williams Bally Gotlieb and others.

I see no difference.

Visual machines have a long way to go with real darkness. Enhancing the table is cool but seems weak. I like the multiple program table options but make the table darker and more like the manual table.

try a 4k display. there is another video where a guy was comparing a 4k and standard hd tv and there was a big difference.

I was never really into pinball because you could lose the ball on the sides instead of just falling through your flippers. That was BS.
