Whiteoak Canyon is my favorite hike in the park. We always stop at that point and wade in the water and then continue on to the overlook where you can see the entire waterfall.
i did this hike with cedar run, without looking at any sort of altitude gain or trail conditions. had no idea what to expect going in, just parked and started hiking. Also was carrying a 20lb pack.
I hiked and camped at White Oak Canyon at least 20 times in the late70's. it is absolutely the best trail in the park although very strenuous. Definitely put this this one on the list to experience. Camping there was so nice and the limited parking assures that only adventurous hikers are your visitors.
