A NEW and Unique, Virtual Stroke Recovery Group led by Karen D. Sullivan, PhD, ABPP, board certified neuropsychologist and author of the I CARE FOR YOUR BRAIN Interactive Stroke Recovery Guide, featuring 10 Zoom Webinar Replays featuring Dr. Sullivan's 10 Rules of Rehab.
Rule 1: Make Your Map. Define your why. I want you to be very clear on what is motivating you to work hard on your recovery. Psychologists know that meaningful, sustainable change is much more likely to occur when we use positive self-talk and have clearly defined our motivation.

Thank you so much for doing this❤ My dad had a stroke after his aortic valve replacement surgery (TAVR) on April 1, 2024. They told us he had a left MCA stroke. He was in ICU for 12 days (where he also had Post Op Delirium (that is a story in itself) and then was moved to inpatient rehab at a different hospital. He has NO paralysis on his right side thank the Lord for that but we were told he has Global aphasia. I think it is more Wernicke's because he sometimes talks in a word salad. He has made great progress in rehab and is being release home this Friday, which I think will help with his progress even more! We will get at home care with more therapy. This series will help us as a family tremendously and I cannot thank you enough for doing it and shedding a light on stroke recovery. We had a pretty unpleasant ordeal with the hospital after his stroke in regards to getting information and were told the dreaded lie about the one year to recover which is devastating to hear. I was so happy to find out recovery is forever ongoing. I have requested his medical records from that hospital so hopefully we can see exactly what is going on. Thank you again!!!!

Thank you I have FND and had TIA in January. My biggest side effect is swallowing, multi tasking, and memory. I’m working with an SLP, but I believe knowledge is power. I love listening to you.

My friend of 7 years shes 82 she had a major stroke and then 2 minor strokes. She had a small Chihuahua which she shouldn't have had even in the first place because it's a huge trip hazard for her but that doesn't matter I have taken the dog in and I'll walk across the street with the dog and put her on her bed and she'll pet her and the other day I went and I don't know if it's just getting close to that time or what happened but she started bawling I just took Maria and left at her daughter said she's been just crying that's all she does when she is awake but it was just a saddest thing I've ever seen in my entire life the whole thing is sad I couldn't imagine I feel for anyone who has ever had a stroke that's for sure because seeing it firsthand like I am right now is heartbreaking.

I'm not in your group but how do I get the list? Plus I don't have much support and I can't write I do not have anyone to help me. I have found myself getting very depressed because it's hard to get to appts. My daughter usely does that. Which means she has to take off work. And she does help financially very limited. So I have a very hard to get the things I need. I'm very scared of more appointments because the appointments I already is a problem already. I don't know how to get the help I need to get better.

Hi Kari, your situation is exactly why I am offering this free resource. Watch each group and you will have the very best of what a neuropsychologist can offer you. This group was done during COVID and these are recordings so there is no current group. YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
