Their opinion is just one of the aspects of some Japanese people so don't apply to all the people working in Japan. But, still it makes sense and it was really interesting to listen to those opinions:)
They all were very measured in their comments and clearly spoke from experience. It was very useful and informative to hear their views. Very high quality interview because you chose very high quality candidates. I agree with the idea of thinking about your future 5,10+ years ahead in what you decide to do. It's a difficult balance to enjoy the present (which is what life is really all about) but be able to ensure that continues into the future successfully too.
