Speaking to the director of Omkara, Vishal Bhardwaj on making the Shakespeare inspired trilogy and his initial brush with Shakespeare's Othello. He also discusses the casting of the film. Vishal Bhardwaj: Actually I read the play of Othello during the time of Maqbool and I read Macbeth and decided that I will make Maqbool out of it. When I was writing the script of Maqbool, the filming of Makdee was going on. After Makdee it was a difficult time for me and it was an empty phase for me. I read shakespeare fo myself because before that I have never read Shakespeare. I think we are not exposed to shakespeare the way we should be...
