M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Hero Vishwak Sen ahead of the release of his Gaami on March 8th as Maha Shivaratri Special.
He spoke about how Director Vidhyadhar Kagitha approached him immediately after the release of his first film and impressed him with the script. "This happened six years ago and he already worked three years on this idea. Imagine someone traveling with an idea for nine years. He has done a great work with Gaami," Vishwak Sen said.
The actor also spoke high about the VFX work of the film. "We spent almost 40% of the total budget on the VFX. The perfection we achieved today is due to the director‘s uncompromising attitude. Since the movie was in production for six years, there is enough time for achieve perfection," he said.
He also spoke about the demise of Malayalam actor John Kottoly who passed away during the film and how it impacted the film and the team.
We asked him about how producers trusted such big project on a newcomer like him, how interests compounded to increase the film budget, and how UV Creations entering the project helped the film at the right time.
"I did the film without any remuneration. It helped the film a lot as we invested everything in the making. Recently I was promised a small amount if the film works out," Vishwak Sen revealed.
He spoke about two other important tracks in the film and possible pace issues the movie may encounter.
He also explained about drawing parallels to Gaami and the films of Christopher Nolan.
"I am not someone who draws comparisons easily. I am an ardent fan of Nolan but I do not blindly praise all his films. I like his Dark Knight a lot but some of his recent films were not to his level," Vishwak Sen said.
The actor also revealed about his bonding with NTR and Balakrishna.
