VISIBLE MENDING - patching from underneath 

This hole in the sweat shirt is patched underneath with a similar material using a whip stitch. Before I started I cleaned up all the frayed threads. I originally thought I could hold it in my hand while I stitched, but found using the wood mushroom underneath gave me a good surface to work on. I didn’t put the elastic on because the hole was bigger and I moved it around as I worked on the mend which worked out really well. In the last part of the reel I created a finishing knot and the extra fabric you can cut away or stitch it down😄👍🏼
I used red sashiko thread and needle
