About ten years ago I made a dozen of these in Christmas fabric with a ribbon hanging loop at one point and several glass beads from the other point. Filled with chocolates they were brilliant on the tree. The one in my sewing kit holds a thimble and needle threader.
Just tried this and I'm really happy with how it turned out for me. I used a sock that was slated for use as a rag, and while it's nowhere near as nice as what's shown here (I missed a couple stitches because it was my first ever time doing this and I used a dark thread which made it harder to see) I'm excited to give it another try (I purposely cut another hole into my practice sock to work on tomorrow 😂).
What an amazing way to adapt! I sometimes have to leave a work in progress because I cannot remain seated. This desk would be a game changer! I think it would allow me to continue my painting or stitching by providing a position change. The size would be perfect in my long and narrow studio space.
It’s a piece of functional art and so lovely. Particularly the hand sewing, which I do enjoy doing. Although I’ll have to overcome my low grade nerves in relation to appliqué. Thank you for sharing this. Your videos and tutorials are wonderful.
My daughter is getting married in Oct and I was thinking of making her a few things for her to keep in her home. This is definitely something I could make. Any other things anyone could think of?
Beautiful❤ Is this part of a longer video? - I'd love to see how you begin and end each row of couching, as I don't know how to deal with the ends of the thicker thread. Thank you❤
