well, we locals do not go to hotels and shit like that, that's for tourists, most of us have houses on the seaside, or family .. me too .. my mom was born in Vodice, small town near Šibenik, but we live in Zagreb since mid 60s, and went on holidays every summer to the "old house" where my grandma is
I agree,Zagorje i Slavonija are beautiful, and Istra to! People must go and see all package Dubrovnik id turis atraction ,other parts of Croatia are even more beautiful! Gorski kotar driving on the old road to Zagreb, food is amazing in continental part!
Thanks for this. I especially love Zagreb. The contrasting architecture is eye arresting, the culture has so much texture and it is safe to walk the streets late at night.
You're right, I've been living in Zagreb for 7 years now and for 6 of those years I'm in the the neighborhood that is considered to be the most shady and "dangerous" neighborhood in the city and I've never had any problems, I was out late many times and I never got mugged or attacked in any way
Next time when in Trogir ,DM me and I'll show you things in Trogir you wouldn't believe existed ...far back from Greeks who established the city 2400 yrs ago.The only remaining God of happy moment,Kairos was found in Trogir...good video btw,and the stones, they are healthy to walk on,every organ in body has a spot on your feet,by walking on those stones, you heal the body.Sand is for wussies ;)
Trogir is the most meautyfull town on our coast if you ask me. Travelled the coast from Umag all the way to Kupari, and Trogir is by far the most beautyfull. Well, not including islands, just because I didnt pass them all. Im from Poreč btw
I have been lucky enough to spend 3 months in continental Croatia, during winter. I'm surprised that so many go for the coast when in land their is so much beauty and history. Some of the most amazing and most kind people I have ever ha the pleasure to meet. Was welcomed into strangers homes, fed and drank a lot of alcohol, partied with people I did not know, just because I was a foreigner Loved it and promised I will be back, will bring my snow ski's wit me this time.
Im thrilled to see that someone has been to our continental parts. Every tourist sees Zagreb and the coast, there are only a few that go deeper. Glad you liked it, wish you as much fun the second time you come :)
And I feel a lot of jealousy coming from you and in this case many other serbs I have come across. I dont blame you for trying to take Croatia, it is an extraordinarily beautiful place. I guess the income Croatia would have produced for jugoslavia would have been a great loss to the Belgrade coffers
I dont think the Croats ever had a problem with serbs living in Croatia. I guess it's something you, as serbs, should take up with your leader slobodan milosevic, whom, you all as a peoples placed your trust in him and thought you could create a greater serbia. I mean, really, how much land do you serbs actually claim? If you claim what you claim is serbian, then how big would Croatia be today? The size of a Pea. So gathering we listen to the serbs and crucify the Croats, what do we do to the Germans, Austrians and Japanese then?
Powder Skier You have mentioned in your previous post about serb dominated yugoslav army? I will need time, but I can find you list of generals and you will see it wasnt dominated by Serbs, more likely by Croats as well as Yugoslavia that was dominated by Croats and Slovenians. Even first man of Yugoslavia was Croat-Slovene Tito.
When you get groups of men in dirty civilian clothing and long beards running around killing civilians they are called terrorists. By the way, if the Croats were that bad, how come there were so many of you serbs living in their country after the 2nd wold war? Besides, I think you serbs should be grateful to the Croats, it was their King who allowed you serbs to come into their lands to save you from the Turks. You need to understand, just because you live in a foreign country does not mean it is yours. Also, I think you serbs should start making peace with all your neighbours, I believe you have issues with every neighbouring country, thats not a good thing
Dear Mark, Thank you for making such a beautiful video about Croatia. We are truly a proud and vibrant people, and I could not help but to tear up a bit while watching this video. To hear tourists say how beautiful our country is, justifies our long struggle to be independent. If you ever have any questions about some secret places in Croatia, please do not hesitate to ask me. There is also a lot to see in the eastern and northern regions of Croatia. You are awesome and I would love to get in touch with you :) all the best Matija Pavković
King of War Man,Peace! You can't judge a country by the fault of some kids. For example, I said "Respect Croatia", so why are you swearing me? I am not a gypsy and I respect all countries, I think people should be friends not to be racist one to other and swear/fight.
CRASHES AND MORE ... I'm apologizing to you for this "King of War" commentator .. he is obviously some kind of moron, heavy kind .. sorry and respect to Romania
11-th thing that shock me is how tourists think Croatia is all about coast, Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Split, Istra, and forget that there is continental part of Croatia which is, for me at least, more beautiful than coast. Forests, old culture, mountains, cities like Zagreb, Varaždin, Osijek...so Wolter, next time when you come to Croatia, try to visit continental parts as well
@@Skyl3t0n well i dont have anything with Zagreb .but i was in Dalmatia and i saw they drink to much. Here where i live People sometimes drink but mostly. When is some celebration.
@@belivefaith6358 i was just exaggerating. You are taking things way too serious brother 😂 Also i"m from germany so i can't complain about people drinking to much
Hey... Slovenija is a lovely country. The difference between Slovenia and Croatia is in top the language. My sister in law is Slovenian.... 😂 I don't really understand the language as Croatian. I am from Germany just my family is from cro... I have many mix culture friends ✌️🌍 but yes... They could show more of Slovenia. Slovenia is pretty close in friendship with Austria BTW. And people are more westeuropean in their character. Greetings to our neighbors ❤️❤️
I admire Croatia because they improved so much over the years. I was there in 2000 and came back in 2011 and 2014. It was so different country. Croatia is focused on the future unlike Serbia or Bosnia. (they are still looking back).
You make me want to go to Croatia again :D I've been there twice. First on a yacht trip, starting from Zadar and sailing beetween entrancing views of islands and see and oh my the sky (I was lucky to go on beginning of august and see the meteors). I've also been to Plitvička jezera but so many people visit that beautiful place. And second time I've been to Maly Iz ("Small Iż). An absolutely charming little island of maybe 300 people living there. Not so many turists and all goods of Croatian island - water, beaches, nature, people and weather. It is very close to Veli Iz (Great Iż) wich is more visited by tourists but has shops, post office and so on. I usually hate the heat and can't stand more than 25C but I did handle 38C thanks to the sea weather. It is a beautiful country :) I hope to explore more of it into the land. Greetings from Poland Slavic cousins! :) Pozdrav iz poljske slavenske braće! :)
Zadar has the stone city its like where the all tourists go and around the stone city are new buildings, its really nice :) it has so much stone churces. Its in Dalmatia btw :D.Zadar is really a good place for tourists because you have everything but its not a really big city like Zagreb or Split but surely has everything like that big cities and an a interesting fact is there is just McDonalds (no kfc, burger king ext...).Im sorry if i made some grammar mistakes. :)
Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. 💓 We have a rich historical and cultural heritage. Croatia: area 56,594 km2, coastline 5,835.3 km, 1.246 Islands (3,259.57 km2), 2.786 sunny hours per year, 576 fish species in Croatian Adriatic, 130 native grape varieties, 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 444 Nature and National Parks... I love your videos btw. :)
My father is from Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and my mother is from Šibenik, Croatia. Mostar is my birth town. Šibenik is the third-largest city in the historic region of Dalmatia. Dalmatia is one of the four historical regions of Croatia, alongside Croatia proper, Slavonia and Istria. Šibenik is the oldest native Croatian town on the shores of the sea.
Filip Bolšec Krajnik Church isn't killing it at all, government is, stealing, robbing and everything. But what will poeple choose again? Left or right side? People are uneducated too much tbh. Government is hiding shit and we still will choose retarded Left or Right side
Croatia is very affordable Unless you're Croatian... For example and American visiting Croatia is cheeper than a Croatian visiting America The thing is, we have Kunas 1 american dollar - 6.05 Kuna 1 Euro - 7.44 Kuna 1 British pound - 8.41 Kuna
Be sure to go to Istria if you will have opportunity... Lots of places to visit, delicious food and great people... I'm from Zagreb but have a plan to go to live there in a near future...
and the Food and and wine was better than any Italian food i had and i love italian food :)..i think this is the best Place for couples and even people that have been married for a wile ..very romantic and you feel so safe all over the Place ..as i said fantastic :)
I was in Croatia last summer at Vir island. It was my first holiday at the sea so it was a stunning experience. Zadar (the nearby city) is amazing! Yet, you can still see buildings with bulletholes and and even bombed ones which is quite sobering about the fact that actual battles were happening in the city. Since Hungary (that's the country where I am) has been threatened by Yugoslavia because we were helping the Croatians since Croatia has gained its indepence, the people were scared about a war.
It has, because people from there stole all the money from MY region, Slavonia, in the east. That's why half of Croatia lives like 200 years ago, just for building new towns on the coast.
Hello I m from Croatia I live in Pula and I watched this video. This is 100% true facts about us. And everything you have described in video is truth.. thank you for your video and I’m glad that you have great time in Croatia. ;)
After several trips to Europe I thought I'd seen it all already, then I visited Croatia! How this beautiful country is not on everyone's wish list is beyond me. Truly a hidden gem. Friendly people, great prices, beautiful architecture, wonderful seaside towns.
Thank you for bringing the "Yugoslavia" thing. I met so many people who are lost in time and think Yugoslavia is still a thing, or that it was a thing until several years ago - no it's was like 30 years ago! Thanks for pointing it out!
You say only dalmacija in croatia,in croatia have so many more beautiful things in Zagorje,Zagreb,Slavonija... I'm saying this because I am from Croatia.
im from Croatia and im so happy when someone wisits my country and makes a video about it becase i wonder how people from other countries fell about it
Oh the 'Yugoslavia' part... :D My family used to travel a lot in Yugoslavia back in the day so a few years ago, on one of our trips to Croatia we brought an old 'Yugoslavia' map cause that was the only one my grandparents found at home. I remember how we always got it out of sight/ slapped it off the dash when going throug border control for example :D Someone was always like: oh shit hide the the goddamn yugo map!! Almost like driving around in the US with a Confederate flag on display..
Sure, I know, we kind of made a joke out of it, it's not that serious. But yeah there are some people who would get offended. And your country is beautiful :) We visit every year with my family!
Hi! I live in Croatia and I'm very proud of it :) Thank you for all your kind words. I really liked your video and I'm glad that you've enjoyed your stay here. I would just like to tell you do not be afraid of the sea urchins. We are more than glad to have them (and we welcome them) 'cause, don't you know - they are one of the best signs for a clean water :D Come again soon!!
I love ur video. The most beautiful thing on croatia 🇭🇷 is that u can’t get enough. I am handling a couple from South Africa which is coming already the 8th time to Croatia and they see every time something new ...
I live in Dubrovnik I thought Zagreb was more beautiful so then I was on vacation there and I proved myself wrong. Dubrovnik is very beautiful and has so much tourists.
Mozda Milanovic? One thing that really irks me about tourist videos about Croatia is that I feel that they focus too much on the coastal areas. I would like to see more tourists come to the continental regions of Croatia and advertise them to others. After all, coastal regions make only about a third of the population of the country and the difference in mentality between the coastal an continental regions is quite staggering. As a person who has a mostly continental upbringing, at times, I feel as if I can better relate to people from Slovenia or Hungary than some people from Dalmatia, although I must admit that I rarely go there. I live in Zagreb so I see a lot of tourists whenever I go downtown, but when I go to some of the cities in the eastern parts of Croatia, like Osijek, for example, I feel that even I as a domestic tourist stand out. One "tripster" place that doesn't get many visitors that I'd recomend people visit, simply due to my childhood memories, is the city of Karlovac, where, all around the town, you can see the damage from the war in the 1990s. Many blocks of flats and the historical center of the city are full of bulletholes and mortarholes. The park around the old city is quite enjoyable for walking. There is a city museum as well, of course.
Yeah, I know. Last time I was in Karlovac I got bored of it in 2 or 3 hours. The worst part is that it was even worse than I remember from childhood. Almost all storefronts are abandoned now.
Ko ih jebe, vi imate vrhunsku kulturu kojoj nikad nece ni dorasti zemlja neobrazovanih ljudi stara tek nasto manje od 200 godina
Dalmacija je predivna regija, uz Istru najljepša u području bivše Jugoslavije. Brač, Split, Dubrovnik veoma su različiti. Slavonija ja ravna sranjola za razliku.
Don't worry about jealous Serbians who speak bad about us. Just come and visit Croatia and you will see how good we are. You are all welcome here. Greetings from Zagreb with love! ❤🇭🇷✌🏖
It's nice when tourists see the beauty of our country. Most locals don't see it anymore and really struggle with more and more people leaving. We have become very pessimistic, this was very refreshing though
+Dino Fire we will. It was such a great visit. Last time was 10 days and we just focused on Dalmatian area. Time before It was Istria and we loved it. Can't wait for the next visit!
I live in Croatia and I love when we win a game in world cup because everyone screams and cheers for our country and that is like the best thing in the world I love it. Last night we won against Denmark and insta storys are flooded with people taking pictures of them watching the game and cheering for our football team. Whenever we won there's always fireworks and people singing on the street with lit up torches and it's the most beautiful thing ever. I'm so happy and proud to live in Croatia🇭🇷❤
There is soooo much more to see in Croatia. Coast is just a little piece of our country. Although salaries are extremly low (and vacation is not afordable for us), nature and beauty is what is holding us up. English is also learned in every Primary School
Mr Wolter : thank you for sharing this beautyful video with us. I would love to move to croatia and work and live there... kinda felt at home as i was one time there and actualy felt sad as i had to move on to my homwcountry. Thanks a lot sir and God bless you!
Mark, thank you for the nice video.. However Croatia is not just the coast. Too bad you didn't experience it properly with visiting Zagreb, Osijek, Djakovo, Varazdin etc. Maybe next time 😁
This was a great video, I really enjoyed it, seeing tourists love my country and my city (Split) makes me so happy and makes me appreciate my country even more
Mark you did such a nice video about my country. Thank you. If you have more questions feel free to ask. I'm a Dalmatian girl that currently goes to collage in Zagreb. So if you have any questions feel free to ask
This video is so on point like I find with so many of Wolters World videos! We went on our honeymoon to Croatia in 2013 and these were definitely true of what we experienced (especially the crowds in Dubrovnik + the fluency of Croats speaking English). Loved Croatia and would love to go back in the future.

Keep being an amazing person and know people out there truly appreciate what you do! Thanks to the wife and everyone else that helps you gain support!
Croatia's beauty doesn't lay just on the coast area - trust me, further into the land it's gorgeous, too. It's truly an amazing country, beautiful all over, and that's one of the reasons I adore the fact that I live here.
Croatia is not only Dalmatia and Istria. More then half of theritory makes the continental part, with no stones. So, you're telling lies here. Mention east Croatia (Slavonija) as well. It's bigger then Dalmatia and Istria.
Amnogst all videos about my country recorder by foreign people, this was without a doubt the most accurate and pleasing one! You cannot imagine how proud we are when someone like you gives a positive review about the homeland. Great job sir, I'm proud my beautiful Croatia managed to show you a good time! :)
I've been to Croatia three times in the summer and it has rained heavily each time. Also, if you stay in the mountains, even in the summer, expect it to be cold at night.
Mark McMarkface croatia has 4 different types of climate, it depends where you have been. In Dalmatia the weather is bad from 15th of august ,it s not so bad but it can be rainy and it is not so hot .
Tough luck :-) Usually it is very hot in summer, but some years have been rainy and relatively cold. Also there are occasional summer storms that may appear suddenly from seemingly calm weather, which is inconvenient if you are at the shore, but can be downright dangerous if you are sailing in the Adriatic, not paying attention to the weather. In short - bring your summer clothing, sun screen and all, but also a raincoat and some warm clothes, just in case...
Wolters World hehe i was just kidding. like your videos, that's why i subscribed. but if you really travel to Antarctica I'll create a new acc and subscribe again 😆. just continue uploading your nice videos. eth fine 😊

I had the pleasure to visit Dubrovnik on my 22 day cruise to the Mediterranean I visited 16 ports Dubrovnik being one. I visited the old part and it was truly remarkable. I hada great tour guide who was very knowledgeable. The scenery, the mountains, the people are awesome and the country isworth viewing. The food was absolutely delicious.
2 bad we can't say that about our politicans! They ruined the economy and caused lots and lots of people (especialy young people) to migrate to some "better" countries of the world.
Hy! I am from Croatia and i have to say that this is one of the better videos about my country if not the best one. If you didnt already you should visit other parts of Croatia to. Capital and region around, Slavonia or mountain reagions. They all have a lot to offer.
i'm not ctoatian i actualy am muslim and albanian, but i love that coutry! since i was in zagreb i saw how will they treat guests. Croatians : zdravo : volim vas i volim hrvatsku , pozdrav od muslimanac i albanac.
Amazing what living in the same empire will do to architecture! I've never been to Budapest or anywhere else in Hungary but I imagine it looks just like Zagreb, only bigger. Especially since we have been in the same same kingdom for almost a millennia and have had the exact same influences throughout history up-to and including communist regimes and socialist simplistic architecture. Dalamtia, of course was under more Venetian influences than any other for a good amount of years. I've been all over Austria (including Vienna) and similarities with Zagreb are unparalleled. If you've seen only Vienna/Budapest/Prague/Bratislava/Ljubljana (probably)/Zagreb you have seen them all.
I live in Croatia and i absolutely agree with everything you said. Good tip is not to mention jugoslavija or serbia a lot here as the people are still angry about the war the happened. And the reason why Croatia isnt that expensive is that we couldnt afford anything if it wasnt. The money you get paid isnt a lot for many people so some cant even afford a nice vacation. I still love my country and i hope many will still visit!
He just explained that the Adriatic region is tourist-friendly as opposed to the rest of this area in Europe. He is condescending, offensive and ignorant and he only visits the top tourist destinations, so it is not an authentic delivery, meaning that he doesn't want to explore aspects that he would find appealing in those countries after studying them. Now I think it is like he travels to feel good about himself.
music box all i know is that Vis, Hvar, Split snd Dubrovnik arent the entire Croatia but he explained these destinations well. He should go to Slavonia, Lika and Gorski Kotar to really get the feel for the country
Hello everyone. I am from Croatia, and I must say that is all true what the gentleman sad in this video.
