One of my highlights in Edinburgh is the Scottish Storytelling Centre. There are fab events, sometimes with music and the cafe is also lovely, not to forget the bookshop.

My favorite place in Edinburgh is the Royal Botanical Garden. Since we love architecture and history, we enjoyed the historic Presbyterian church with it’s spectacular blue ceiling. Also the views from Edinburgh castle are great. It’s a great city, well worth a week of vacation time. We had a great seafood meal at the bayside area too.

Visited Edinburgh back in April for shopping - lots of walking, did over 17,000 steps in the 6 hours there ! Have climbed Arthur's Seat in beautiful weather, the views are breathtaking. We are travelling to Brussels for a week long city break - see my son who lives there and going to see Nile Rodgers in concert on the 6th. so excited !

We have always rented a beach house at Fort Morgan, Alabama for my mother's birthday. It's a long-standing tradition as my mom turns 81 this year, and I have to say it's my favorite time of the year. Back in the days of Abraham and Moses, I sang at the Festival Theater. Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cites in the world. It's always a pleasure to feel your name pop up in my feed. Love from Mississippi!

I just moved to a new town, in a new state, in the USA, after living 72 years in one regional county…..Surprised am I that I haven’t been homesick once!!….Maybe once winter sets in that might happen because I moved from a Mediterranean climate to the Pacific Northwest…which can be very rainy….I love exploring the area, and I’m sure it will be many years before I can call myself at home with knowledge of my surroundings…..So, here is to a new adventures….age doesn’t matter…experiences do! 💕

I love seeing Edinburgh. I was there three years ago with my daughter and fell in love with its history and beauty. I'm taking my two grandsons to Yellowstone Park in Wyoming and then to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. We'll be camping and fishing the whole two weeks. A few decades ago ( I was very young) 🙂I lived in Edinburgh and while there attended chapel in the Castle and had a lovely treat of a delicious curry meal prepared by the chef there for a private group of us. I loved the Princes street gardens. Clarinda's café on the royal mile was a favorite place for a Saturday lunch. I worked in James Thin's Booksellers while my husband worked on a doctorate at the University. I know a lot has changed but I've been hoping you would show a little more of the city to see if any sites would be familiar. I can promise you that a stay at the Waldorf (looks like the suite you highlighted is $1722 USD!) would be entirely aspirational--both then and now! It was beautiful, but fortunately, I love the adventure of Airbnb. Enjoy your Summer travels!

Well, this made me homesick for Scotland and my time there but in the best way possible! Edinburgh is so beautiful and the ghosts are welcoming! Please see the castle as it is very memorable and full of historic ghost stories and just finery! I loved it and had a real ghost encounter of my own without realizing it. I told a local about it and said it was odd I heard a piper in an area where there were no pipers...late at night at the base of the castle. He had been trapped in a tunnel while others were digging so they could figure out how far the tunnel went and it collapsed. Anyway it freaked me out after I hear about this! There were no pioers anywhere. Visit the castle and tell the Piper hello from me! Thank you for all you do enliven our summers Xo 🇨🇦Joanne (for fun volunteering at our local Shakespeare an Fringe Theatre Festivals inbetween work related activities).

Thank you for sharing your haunts and venues of Edinburgh. Aside from the Portrait Gallery and the Waldorf Astoria, the hike through Hollyrood Park, going to the mall for some high street retail therapy and your local pub are places a local would only know. It appears you have a packed travel schedule this summer and it’s great that you leaning the languages of the places you will be visiting. Learning a couple of well chosen phrases will assist in bringing you closer to the people you interact with during the trip. I realize it’s a lot of work posting your style of vlog therefore I’m wondering if you be doing a travelogue during your visits? If not, then postings on your IG will be greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Mary King Close. It is a preserved part of the old city. They will only let people in on tours, perhaps because it would be quite dangerous to go down there alone. One old house they won't even let people in because of the danger from the arsenic in the wallpaper. It is so atmospheric and wonderful and I highly recommend it. Along with Hollyrood House, it was one of the highlights of my time in Edinburgh. It is currently winter here. I have no immediate plans to go abroad. Thank you for the video! Lovely as always!

Dear Nicolas, the places you show are beautiful. In Zagreb, where I live, the summer temperatures are over 30+C and often go up to 40+C, and this fact binds me to closed spaces or early morning walks most of the summer. By the way, Zagreb is a beautiful city more than 1000 years old, which unfortunately was badly shaken and destroyed by the earthquakes that occurred in recent years. It is being restored, but it will take decades. However, we have beautiful parks, spas near the city, a small mountain that is a nature park, a river...nature is beautiful, and the city has less than 1 million inhabitants, so it is pleasant to live in. Come, visit Zagreb! Best regards!
@Musettina6

Dear Ana, how nice to find this comment about Zagreb where I spent my childhood years - a while ago. Was wondering if the earthquake has damaged the area around the beautiful Ribnjak Park near which we lived... Would love to go back - probably not in summer especially not one like this year! Enjoy your beautiful city, and the islands in Croatia if you have a chance! Kind regards, Musetta
@mbaljak1

@@Musettina6 The houses did not collapse, they sustained damage, but mostly they did not collapse from the earthquake. Around Ribnjak, too, everything is in its place, but there are certainly static damages. Both towers of the cathedral had to be removed because they were leaning and the whole Kaptol did badly, unfortunately, but from the outside the damage is hardly noticeable, I think that everywhere on the stream buildings the statics were still well shaken. Come, I know that Zagreb attracts everyone who has been there once, to come back again. And the coast is beautiful. For years we spent summers on Krk... Warm greetings to you too!

Edinburgh looks like a very nice city to visit. We were going to visit from Western Australia, the English countryside, Scotland and Wales when the pandemic hit and our plans were also cancelled but we were fortunate enough to just arrive back from Ireland and Canada before we went into lockdown. Our state stayed locked up for quite sometime which kept us very safe and the pandemic did not hit here for about one and a half years later than the rest of the world which put us behind with opening up again although we have now and travel can begin again. My favourite State in Australia is our free standing state of Tasmania. It’s the oldest type of Australian place to visit which is the closest looking to the UK with lots of history, old buildings and so, so scenic as it’s an Ireland so it’s surrounded by sea and mountains in the middle of it, which equally matches many other countries in the world so we are off for a holiday there in the near future for a few weeks. Australia in itself is a wonderful country and we have seen most of it already but still have travelled overseas as well. Thank you for your great vlog Nicolas.

Im surprised that you have not visited the castle - its epic. I lovvvve Italy, just come back from Rome..words dont do justice..my favourite city so far with so much architecture, oozing with history and very stylish people. We did a day tour to Amalfi coast (simply breathaking), my dream place Positana which is so posh and just incredible on the foothills of a large mountain (ticked off the list) and a leisurely sunset evening in Pompeii which is a must visit. Thank you, Nicolas! Currently, I'm travelling in France and after France, I'm going to travel the UK for a month. I'll stay in Edinburgh for 4 days. I'll definitely visit where you recommended:)

Thank you Nicolas. Loved this tour! I’m really enjoying these more relaxed vlogs-- we are seeing the real you. Which is very nice indeed. Hope we can tag along with you to France, Italy , and Mallorca..😎

As talented and thoughtful as I think Nicholas is, I don’t particularly care for the location of the prints. To me, they are overwhelming the space. The mantle isn’t a good spot for them either. I am wondering if they wouldn’t look better on separate walls instead of right next to one another. Just another viewpoint from an avid Nicholas fan.

Hi Nicolas, thanks for sharing your favourite places in Edinburgh. I’ve visited the Portrait Gallery & it is a wonderful place to spend time especially if the weather is not good. I did a Babbel course a few years ago & found it really simple to follow & very enjoyable.

I really appreciated your video as this is an authentic approach of Edimbourg! This is great to discover the Waldorf and the sir Walter Scott suite. Also I really liked the dog friendly pub :) happy also that you learn my language haha cheers from La Ciotat in the South of France. Ps: what I like to do in summer in my city is star gazing as we have a clear sky here from the highest cliffs above the Mediterranean sea

Thanks Nicolas... as usual your videos never disappoint. I went to Edinburgh on a solo trip a few years ago...had lunch on the Royal Yacht Britannia and toured around enjoying the atmosphere. Love it there. Thnx for sharing - I feel it may be time for another visit. Greetings from Shropshire ⚘
