Having moved and then restored a 1695 farmhouse in New England, USA, I can really relate to your sister's project, and I heartily applaud her & her husband for saving such a venerable old home. It's going to be so meaningful and so wonderful for your whole family ... looking forward to more updates!

I really like how you shot the first scene with the mirror and a bit of the wall, dividing the space in three, I find that was very cinematic and artistic! I also appreciate how you take your time to put together the patio so nicely vs rushing everything, it's comforting to see that there's still people who enjoy the process and gives a sense of achievement. As always, I just love seeing you! I'm loving your vlogs more and more as you include a variety of things. You also seem so much more relaxed and confident than when you first started. Loved the tour of the house restoration. I'm sure it will be amazing when completed. I just finished decorating my deck yesterday. It is filled with many beautiful flowers and different colors, along with hanging chimes and other pretty things. I also have an herb garden in a flower bed at the foot of the stairs from the deck and I really enjoy using them in my cooking throughout the summer. You should try some herbs in pots in your garden. As much as you cook, you would truly enjoy the taste of fresh herbs that you grew and just snipped for a particular meal. Parsley, sage, thyme, basil, oregano and chives are easy to grow. I especially like the look of the wooden arches against the wall. The new bench is nice, too. Glad you had a fun weekend.

So much potential for your sister's new home. As for the location, what can I say about that: perfect. Interior plan is amazing! If it were mine I would not turn those outside buildings into homes for permanent neighbors. Just for family members. Maybe weekend guests. But permanent homes? Huge risk.

Wow! Your sisters home and walled gardens, plus your parents little house is something out of a novel. I can see it all in my mind, landscaped and furnished. Can't wait to see its progression. Please take us along if your sister is willing. Also your garden bench looks perfect. When you said a large mirror behind it, I thought it would be perfect. And if its arched to continue the lines of the bench and trellis, even better. I can also see two pots on either side with round boxwoods. What a lovely space. Also I love the overhead brick arch, which, by the way , also serendipitously keeps the arch theme .

I'm buying a garden bench as well, a wooden one I may paint a sage green with floral or striped pillows. Great thing about garden benches you can also bring them indoors for the winter and use them as extra seating if you need it. What I plan to do. Best wishes to you and family and their new homes! You also have room for a swimming pool or man made pond as well. How exciting and inspirational to build a new home. I also love art/architecture since being a professional artist and also partially grew up in my late grandmother's home here in Yankee New England, built in 1776! No door knobs, just black wrought iron latches on all the interior doors and very low ceilings! My late grandfather of English descent , the Nickerson family, was very tall and everytime he walked into the house he would bump his head if he wasn't careful! Very steep stairs leading to two bedrooms upstairs under the eaves. Can't wait to see more of the restoration of your sister's and parent's homes. Sounds like they're creating a Fairford compound?!
