It's come a long way. In 1968, there was a small house on the property which was had been recently purchased by a fellow whose last name was Sullivan; can't recall his first name. He was in the process of converting the house into a restaurant, and my friend and I helped harvest bamboo which he used to construct the bar. He called it the Club South Pacific, and he was still operating it when I left Maui in 1971. Never thought it would expand to what it has today.
Me, my sisters and our mom had just returned home from Maui (March of 2024). It was a wonderful trip. We also visited this amazing restaurant “Mama’s Fish House”. I especially liked their delicious soup bouillabaisse (huge bowl). Highly recommend. * the black pearl looks really nice (didn’t get the chance to try it, I was so full)
Over priced. Too much hype. Try Cafe Olei at the Millhouse for fantastic food at half the price or go to the newly reopened Aloha Mixed Plate for the best Hawaiian food at a third of the price. And it’s right on the ocean as well.
@@SwopeFamilyChannel I have been to all 3 restaurants and all our very good. Mama's Fish House is a must for special occasions. It has the best atmosphere on earth and the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Bring a lot of money, but the experience and food is beyond amazing.
