We are not related to igala, Igala existed before atta left Agulu ERI. That particular atta whose left Agulueri with Obina, they left hunting and that atta has 4 other young children namely: Obukpa, Nsukka, okpuje and Eha-alumona all found in Nsukka LGA. Attah went to an alien land, which is what's called Igala today with those companions I mentioned earlier. Atta was a mighty warrior and when he discovered the igalas were at war, he helped them and conquered Igalas enemy, so he was glorified to the extent that he was used as the king of igala. He was considered great to the extent his name was glorified and used to be king. Atta never wanted Obina and his children to learn the worship of the igalas so he ordered Obina to leave the land and establish a new settlement; Obina took it as wickedness that atta didn't want to put him in leadership position with his powers. Atta tried and drove him out, including his other 4 children after teaching them our traditions and customs and cautioned them not to deviate from the Igbo tradition and worship. So, Obukpa, Nsukka, okpuje and Eha-alumona left to make their establishment. Obina too founded the present day Uzouwani in Enugu state. This is the reality of what happened, but today, whenever an uzouwani elder tells the story of their establishment, they always make tell us that atta and Obina went to igala land and after helping winning a war and after being made king of the igalas, he never wanted his relative "Obina" to take any royal rank and so he maltreated him and made him to leave not realizing that atta also drove his children out. Atta thought he could just cling to his traditions and that after his rule, he will just leave but when he realized that he was almost practicing some of the igala traditions, he invited the priesthood clan "Nri priests" to stay close and be performing the traditions he has known and cherished. That was how some Nri ppl stayed at Idah. I can't share many info here, I have a lot to teach u all. Igala and igbos are not one but the first atta of igala was an Igbo man and his name was atta; it was his name that continued to be taken to mean king in igala land. If u come to Nsukka, obukpa, okpuje and Eha-alumona; we always call ourselves "dimkpa atta ' as means to eulogize. Asadu ideke alumona is NOT the father of Obukpa, Nsukka, okpuje and Eha-alumona but he was the man who came and tried to give us Ezes to unify our towns the more which was ruled by elders and ndi ichie and he wasn't forgotten bcuz he was the one that also blessed the Ezes and they made it that every new Eze to be coronated would visit igala land for blessings, but Obukpa saw it that it would lead to copying the worship of the igalas which their father atta instructed against, so they made a deal that one village in Obukpa will take over the coronation blessings and bless the the new king to be; the village is called "Amaeze" in Obukpa today. It's noteworthy to remember that even later attas of igala had to bless and coronate the Ezes of Enugu ezike, OPI, Nkpologwu (in uzouwani) and so many others. I have a lot to say but I have to stop here. I would have taught everyone here the reason why atta never wanted Obina, Obukpa, Nsukka, okpuje and Eha-alumona nor himself to worship/observe the igala ways of worship, but the summary is that it's considered abomination by Chukwu Abiama. This can tell u why the earliest deities in Obukpa (cuz I'm from obukpa) have to be rejected and today we call those imported deities "arusi or alusi" , a short form of "Aru si e si" meaning "imported abomination". I'm from Ogwashi Owerre Obukpa and most earliest deities that came to Obukpa were rejected by every little clan making up Obukpa and some that were later worshipped was forced by some influencial men on some clans where they want it to be stationed and my clan "Ogwashi' , suffered it greatly although they rebelled so strongly.

During the Civil War, the Igalas fought side by side with the Igbos. Recently, a Nigerian military officer of Igala origin was amongst those drafted to go to Borno, to fight the Boko Haram terrorists. This officer went on AWOL. He was later arrested in Delta State. On interrogation, he told the interrogators that he is from Ogwurugwu, in Enugu State, and an Igala by tribe. The military interrogators told him that he did not want to go to Borno because he is related to the Igbos. The name Onoja, and Attah is never an igbo name, if you ask people from Nsukka, obukpa, Okpuje and ibagwa-ni, many of them bear this name but if you ask them the meaning of the they can not tell you, because that is never an igbo name. most of this people that tell us history on social dont even no or they do not make there reaserch very well, we are one nigeria one brothers and sisters.

If the lgbos are the children of Gad, 4th child of Jacob it stance to reason that other tribes in Nigeria will make up the rest of the 12 children of jacob. One benin king did have 12 children....
