St. George Utah Temple has a Visitors Center and beautiful Temple ground gardens to explore.
Inside the visitor center you’ll be greeted by a member who will give you a tour inside the center. You’ll watch a movie and be surprised by how much history there is about the temple and the city.
Then you’ll be able to wonder about the grounds on your own.
It’s Free to go see.
When built, it was-the third temple constructed by the church and the first temple In Utah.
Announcement to build a temple was made January 31, 1871
Groundbreaking and Site Dedication took place on November 9, 1871 by Brigham Young
Dedication: April 6 1877: At this time temple is only open to LDS members
Durning construction and before the temple is rededicated it has a Public Open House. This allow non members a chance to view the inside.
Rededication: November 11, 1975
Temple was renovated in 2023 as well
Temple sits on 6.5 acres
143,969 square feet
165 ft. high

Definitely was. I found it to be enlightening and serene. I knew I was not going to be able to go in. But still wanted a glimpse of what it was about.

Thanks for the lovely video. This temple is near my home and has a very long and interesting history. Just as an FYI, the name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "Mormon" is an old nickname that stuck for a long time. But, thank so much for the nice pics. We have temples being built all over the world, and before they are opened, there is a big open house, so maybe you can catch one near you and see the inside. All the best!

Thank you. Had a feeling Mormon wasn’t totally correct but most people don’t understand LDS term so I just went with it. I hope to go see the Salt Lake Temple. It’s under construction now and will have an open house in 26 . 🤞🏻that I will be able to go. One never knows what or where you are going to be.

I hardly call a stroll around the gardens surrounding a building to be a visit to that building. Nice gardens -- but no visit to the building.

True, but unfortunately one cannot go in unless they are LDS. However they did provide photos inside the visitors center. Thanks for watching.

God does not reside in temples anymore, when Jesus died on the cross, that all changed, we now have Jesus in our own temples, he is right next to our heart, no need for temples made with hands.
