Your drive behind that logging truck was giving me anxiety, thanks Final Destinations 2 movie. 😂 The scenery is absolutely breathtaking through the area. 2 hour drive would easily turn to 4 for me because I would want to stop and enjoy all of it for long periods of time.
I can’t thank you enough for your vlogs, these interesting and beautiful places you are visiting are on our to do list but if we don’t get to go ourselves we have seen them because you are sharing your experiences and memories, priceless!! Again thank you so much 😊
What a day! Loved the gunfight scene 🤣 I am so, so, so, so, so envious of this trip! Really hope to do something similar myself in the future so I’m sure I’ll be back to these vlogs again some day 😊
We’ve just got back from Vegas, went to see Aerosmith at Park MGM Dolby theatre, best night ever ❤ then Rod Stewart at Ceasers 🥰 stayed at Planet Hollywood, our 6th Vegas trip but chuffin hell how expensive has it got!!! Still love it tho 🥰🥰
Ok, third vlog with your Keks on the back seat! 😂 Great trip, taking us back to the three times we have done similar trips. Really looking forward to the each instalment as you travel across.
This flog is sooo good. That Bodie looked amazing, love finding out about the history. I think the chair on the right in the barbers was where they had their shoes shined.
This is the best vlog so far for me. Absolutely excellent. Stunning scenery, your visit to Bodie was superb, a very eerie place, and fascinating all at the same time. Such a long drive to Vegas, but those mountains and straight long long roads were amazing. Not sure I could cope with Vegas and how busy it is, but you had to do it.
Bodie is just fascinating. Haven’t made it there yet so thanks for such a great vlog on it. Loved that you stopped multiple times on the way out of Yosemite. One of my best friends was born (1950s) in Las Vegas ( or as she calls is - Lost Wages). They had relations up in Idaho and Oregon so would drive everywhere in the west (still does). She drummed it into me never drive anywhere without drinking water and some sort of food, and always stop at an open gas station if ¾ tank or less fuel as you never know where the next open one will be. BTW - California has strict environmental laws so we require “special” blends of gas. And the oil companies like to shut down refineries for “maintenance” and then put prices up due to slower production. Dont get me started 😤
Absolutely loving these vlogs ❤ I keep saying to anyone who will listen, I really fancy doing this trip 😂 The scenery is beautiful & the Bodie abandoned town looked like a great place to visit too! Look forward to the next one. Take care guys xx
I have found all of your road trip videos so interesting. This one though I got really emotional. It’s so sad to me that people left their stuff. What could have been so devastating that you would leave what little you had behind. I just love history. This was absolutely fantastic. Thank y’all so much for bringing us along. We really appreciate y’all❤xo
This was an amazing vlog!! It definitely went to either end of the spectrum in terms of being somewhere as beautiful and remote as Yosemite & Brodie, to the other extreme of Vegas which is crazy busy with buildings everywhere. Well done Nick for driving that far and Leigh for creating amazing vlogs 🤩
Wow absolutely love this vlog, the ghost town was amazing you just can't imagine it, so interesting , love the way you incorporated the good, the bad & the ugly into the vlog made me laugh specially when Nick got his phone out his pocket 😂😂❤
These have been great. You’re seeing more of this country than I have and I’ve lived here all my life. And that small squirrel might have been a chipmunk?
Ah loved this, never heard of bodie before but it was so interesting, so funny when ye done the face off myself and owen where in knots.... the drive to Las Vegas lord I don't know how nick stayed awake very hard with no scenery.. Las Vegas hotel looked fab can't wait for the rest of the vlogs
wow Bodie looks amazing! it was so weird to think that people lived there before and how many years has passed, things like that and history freaks me out 😂 it like how nick says when you get home you have those moments of the world continuing around you and life being so different all around the world, its just crazy to think about isn't. I wonder what life was like at Bodie, and I wonder what the people there thought about what future life would be like. blows my mind 🤣 loving these vlogs so much! I feel like I travel the world through you to ❤ xx
Guys that was an incredible vlog,Bodie looked amazing, I'm so intrigued by everything oldie worldie,I loved that we got to look through the windows with you and my biggest fascination was definitely the morgue 😱...hats off to the staff that stay on site, I know I couldn't do it! Las Vegas is just so busy and vibrant but I'm not sure I'd manage it myself, I like peace and quiet too much😄! Loved this one 💙💙 xx
We loved this vlog, last visited Bodie 20 years ago and it was one our favourite places to visit. Mono lake you passed they filmed Clint Eastwood movie High Plains Drifter, they built the town then demolished it after filming. We always stay at Mammoth lakes lots of places to stay and eat.
We were in Bodie in May 2018. We were driving i395 from South Lake Tahoe towards Death Valley. We had a hotel in Bridgeport, not far from Bodie. It looked a bit like yours in Yosemite. Like something from Twin Peaks. Death Valley was amazing. We stayed at Amargosa Hotel at Death Valley Junction on our way to Williams. This brings back great memories. BTW, we’re probably neighbours; we live in Hornsea.
haha loved the mock shoot out! The ghost town was amazing! Gave me the heebie jeebies but I love stuff like that. So interesting. Wow Vegas is so in your face, especially after Yosemite & Bodie. Really great vlog guys. Thanks so much. Can’t wait for the next one ❤
Bodie does look like a fascinating place to visit, if a little creepy. I never thought about bear claws being uniquely American, but I guess it makes sense. I’ve had plenty of them over my life! Never been to Las Vegas or been all that excited about the idea, though it might be interesting just to say you’ve done it.
I really like that… I never knew about Brodie….. I looked it up and it’s about four hours from me… that was really cool… Can’t wait to see your Vegas vlogs….love you guys❤️❤️
Thank you for another fantastic vlog, Bodie is so interesting! I've never been to Vegas but it looks amazing! Ultimate people watch place lol, can't wait to see more! 😊
You got to see Cher in 2009!!!!! That's me screaming! Every time I've been to Las vegas, I would always ask the rental car people, 'is Cher in town?' She's never been in town when I've been there. I'm so jealous! No kidding, you guys are doing what I would love to do. So I am living vicariously through you. Bode is just right up my alley. I would love to do things like that. Seriously, you are giving me ideas of places that I want to try someday.
Really interesting to see Bodie- a little eerie though. I loved Vegas. I know what you mean. It’s such a lot to take in- so many beautiful hotels to walk through.
Bodie is very like Fort Steele in the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia. It’s fascinating to see how people lived in these remote areas. In Fort Steele people were living in these sort of homes well into 20 century.
Thanx for showing Bodie, it's a place we would rarely see as off the beaten track. Living the wild west history. Again loved the music accompanying Bodie. We love Vegas, just soak it up. Loads of great eateries. Buffalo slot machine will eat your dollars.
Absolutely fantastic vlog, ghost town was brilliant something I would love to do, looks very lively in Vegas stay safe, thank you for such an amazing time on this vlog, you are both entertaining your viewers to the fullest, Thank you love to you both ❤️❤️
You should of gone to Knotts Berry Farm. Walter Knott brought old buildings from different ghost towns to his theme park, 3 and a half miles from Disneyland. To me its the best part of that park. I think you’d love it.
Thank you loved it. This vlog was fabulous, fun and amazing. Sorry about your mum nick. Sending love 💖 take care. Looking forward to the rest of vlogs. Thank you xxx
My favourite vlog so far ..can't wait for the Vegas vlogs went in 2017 stayed at the cosmo and 2 nights at the grand canyon which was incredible I'll never forget that trip so looking forward to seeing them love you guys thank you x
Watched you both for couple years , but don’t really comment as watch on TV. however had to say that I’m Really enjoying watching your road trip series , something I would love to do one day ! Made me laugh the cowboy bit , place looked amazing ! ❤
Thank you for sharing your trip, i have loved everything about these vlogs, their have given me some inspiration, never knew Yosemite was so beautiful, can you please do a vlog on how to plan a trip like that 😀
@26:58 Or thereabouts, where y'all thought it said "Hotel" I think it was "I.O.O.F." which stands for International Order of Odd Fellows which is a non-political, non-sectarian international fraternal order of Odd Fellowship. It was founded in 1819. Loving your videos so far! Thank you for bringing us along your journey across America!
What an experience , Bodie was eerie but not to be missed , I feel. Just like house on the prairie. Loved Vegas when we where there , many years ago , we stayed in Aladdin , which is now planet Hollywood I think . If you haven’t already , you must do the ride off the top of the stratosphere. Go on ! Dare ya ! Enjoy every minute . Stay safe 💋
Although I liked your trip to Bodie , my favourite so far is Yosemite, it bought back such great memories for me ! Great road trip ! Looking forwards to seeing how big vegas has become since my last visit !
Absolutely loving your road trip. Bodie was shocking to see and I couldn’t help thinking where the graves were 😮. I was on tender hooks for you regarding fuel and if you’d get there. Thanks for sharing this series with us x
What a long drive. The ghost town was interesting. As a employee I wouldn't want to stay the nights there. I can only imagine the sounds there. Spooky! Las Vegas would be sensor overload for me! The noises, smells, & everything to look at one time.✌️👍🤓
Hi. Just planning our USA road trip and would love to take the route you did. The scenery is breathtaking. Is it possible to share your route from Yosemite to Vegas? X
Bern to Vegas 6 times but last trip was 15 years ago. Done the helicopter to Grand Canyon. Done boat on lake Mead and think it was red rock canyon I want too x
Bodie is very interesting. i would love to go see it and the redwood forrest too. We visited Virginia city, Nevada years ago. they had an open saloon still called the Silver Dollar Lady, or something like that. Above the bar hung a framed picture of a woman with her dress covered in silver dollars. this was in 1963. imagine how old they were!!!
The thing inside the Methodist church that you didn’t know what it was, is a wood burning stove. It would have had a metal cylindrical chimney going straight up through the roof and would have been the only heating in the chapel.
Hi, we have just started going through your vlog so apologies if you have already answered this somewhere else. What is the app you were using to measure the altitude and plan general route planning please? Thanks. Keep it going!
I'm about halfway through this video. I wanted to stop and comment. In the church, on the left, that was a wood burning stove to heat the place. In the barbershop, the chair on the right that you called the children's Place for getting their haircut was actually where you get your shoes shined. They had little metal things sticking up where you would put your foot. And then someone would sit down in front of you and Shine Your shoes. These shoe shining stations were often in barbershops. They could also be it train stations, etc.
Unfortunately on our road trip in 2014 we only had a couple of hours in Bodie, could have spent many more hours. That final couple of miles in to the ghost town is a bit of a bumpy ride lol
There’s a curse to anyone who takes an object from the town, they get a ton in the mail every year from people who didn’t believe and started having really bad luck after taking a nail or can.
Agree about vegas. Very overwhelming the first time... def go on the rollercoaster in nyny and penn and tellar show in rio was amazing if it is still on
Wow, that was amazing, but why did people leave their things behind? Why didn’t they pack everything up before they left? You can’t but wonder if something scared them off, for them to leave in such a hurry, seems strange to me, spooky even, loved the vlog guys was absolutely fascinating.
It's so funny. Quantum Leap, the new TV series, had an episode where some Gunslingers came into town who were working for the railroad. The Railroad wanted to buy up the entire and hired these Gunslingers to terrify people into leaving but some people wouldn't leave. They threatened them and several people were just leaving by the droves. It turned out that this little ragtag group stayed and fought for the town. I thought of Bodie when I was watching that show and wondered if something similar to that had happened to these people. I just wonder if they were run out of town.
Oh I hope you went to see some shows, they say Divas Starring Frank Marino is a brilliant show, in real life Frank actually looks like Michael Jackson, uncanny
