The festive season is truly upon us and in today’s 4K walking tour I visit the beautiful historic city of Canterbury in Kent. It is a popular tourist destination, most famous for the Cathedral, university, stunning architecture and for being the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury - and who could forget the classic Canterbury Tales by Chaucer!
In December though, the streets of Canterbury are on a different level - it’s got a huge Christmas market around the high street area with over 50 stalls and attractions, bars, Christmas music, Christmas lights and decorations. I explore Whitefriars, Westgate Gardens, the Roman city wall, the King’s Mile with its quirky shops (including the wonky bookshop!), hunt for the most independent coffee shop I can find and even stop at a pub for a traditional Sunday roast (and a pint as always..)
