Just subscribed. Been watching your videos day in and day out. You have an awesome personality, and I like how you appreciate everything. I can tell you really like making videos with Fowler, I am glad you got to get back out with him. I wish you the best, I will continue watching your videos!!
I love your Rambo first Blood references! You had me rolling, laughing my head off! I grew up in Hope, I was 8 years old in 1981 when they filmed right near my house. Love it!
Hey Ovens, Next time you talk to Fowler. Tell him I also used to hangout out at the decrepit buildings "rock crusher" company, inside pinehill park; & i also fish the first spot you stopped at was the pull-off by bridge, across from the golf course, on grove. Good ol' little Rutland spots!
I used to fly to Eastern Germany through Zurich about every other month. Every-time, and I mean every-time I was in Zurich airport I got 'randomly' selected for a security check. It got to the point that I would expect them to come to me and then I would recite their security procedures and interview question to them. Their response was "oh so this has happened to you before?". They were very pleasant and polite, but it was both funny and frustrating.
Man we got places like that here where I live yes that's what dad would do mountains I know our commits really don't mean much to talk but I love to leave a comment because it reminds me when I was younger going in the woods and would like y'all to know thanks for the footage
I know of one other person that casts like you, Greg :] I was watching the Netflix series [ The World's Most Extraordinary Homes - season 3 episode: Coast During the first examination of the BA Norwegian Summer House, one of the hosts Piers is shown casting a fishing rod exactly as Greg Ovens does. It was instant recognition of the style and it really made me smile. I just had to share :]] In my personal opinion Greg & Fowler are the best in 30 day survival, The bearded Woodsman is a solid close second. ;] I look forward to all of your future videos. ✌🖖👊😃
Another great video Greg keep it up! I love the Rambo in the beginning. I am definitely trying your mouse/fish trap in your previous video. I think there could be a lot of applications for it!
Don't know much bout them there yankee catfish but down in Tennessee cat fish can be caught on panfish cut bait or chicken liver. Looks like you had Walmart baits just never work for us.
I agree. Greg is a G. Haters gonna hate. But who’s winning when he’s making RU-vid videos for a living, and those people work at TSA in an airport......
Love this reply. Been watching "Field Days" lately, dude is a plumber in australia and only works enough hours a year to get around the world and live life on the water and off the land. Much like our beloved Greg here. Truth is, I don't have the balls for it. But I respect them that much more for it
Greg is honestly a great person i recently found this channel and his work is amazing, videos are exciting to watch he deserves way more subs. Might try and buy one of the tops once isolation is over
Well I listened to your ordeal with the airlines. Comparing yourself to Rambo or maybe a cross between Rambo and Grizzly Adams may make some people nervous. I compare your ordeal with a gentleman I met a while back. He told me of going to a car dealership. He was dressed in bib overalls, plaid shirt and work boots. His wife was comfortably dressed. Almost all of the salesmen avoided them. One man came forward and treated them with respect and showed them several vehicles he thought may suit them. They told the young man they were going to think about it over lunch. They went home got changed into their Sunday best and returned to the same dealership. All those other salesmen jumped to try and help them. Instead they asked for the other salesman by name and let him sell them the vehicle. You and this gentleman I speak of are one of a kind of hard working people and just because you don't dress up to someone else's idea for travel or what ever they don't treat you with the kind of respect you deserve. You have a great channel and I hope you gain the following you deserve. So keep up the great job you do and keep living your dreams.
I used to sell cars too.. and I would always take those unkempt customers... ( farmers daughter) I know the gig... usually they pay cash... righttttttttttt.... so dont judge.. never assume ...
My parents took me to see Jeremiah Johnson on the big screen when it came out. I was just a kid but it reminded me of my Dad and made quite an impression on me. I have it on DVD and still watch it probably 2 times a year, once with my Mom, and once with my Son.
Great video Greg! My old stomping grounds lived in Rutland for 20 years got tired of the snow, move to Florida but both my grown kids and my mother still lived there had a lot of good times up at Rocky pond. There are so many good fishing spots in the state, hiking trails! Been on a lot of them over the years! So many places just to go and you could say just get lost for a few days and enjoy nature. There is a lot I do miss but winter is not one of them. Just went up this past year in October for 2 weeks in the woods it was a great experience and relaxing.
Awesome video. I'm cannot wait to try that bacon wrapped apple cheddar bomb! Thanks for sharing! Greg and Fowler are like peas and carrots. My 6year old daughter remembers Greg's previous video and called him the Blueberry man! Looking forward to more!
GREG: "man, it's really cold here". ME: "Welcome to early Spring in Vermont , bro ; ) . Another great vid here, Greg - good intro, creative editing, humor, awesome drone footage, music, etc. Loved the 30 day series you guys did. One of the best YT collab teams out there, bar none. Hoping your channel continues to explode. ATB
I do appreciate a man that isn’t afraid of hard work, takes a man to do drywall. Luckily he has something to give the world that is far more valuable than drywall!
Hey Greg, thanks for sharing this past video that I didn't. I subbed right away the first time. You reminded me of my beloved brother. I can only see you on the U-Tube, and don't even know how to use this phone to it's potential, Not on Any..social media at all. But, You are the ONE TO WATCH, you explain everything so very well. You're always straight..and down to EARTH!, You know as well as I do that people will always judge by looks! Next time tell M,.. you are Tarzan and you are going back to the jungle! Ha! I'm sure digging looking back for the 1st time. GBU.,SM.,NZ.,✌❤🙂🤟🤗
Hey Greg, I'm only half way through this one, gotta say, hey, that's why I called ya an ole-hippy. Now I know why you're so Cool. Butt, Your experiences, & expertise just comes shining through with the programs I've seen. I do seem to understand you better even better now. Always informing! GBU.,SM.,NZ.,from ✌❤🙂🤟🙏
Been there. They always made me wait at airports to leave costa rica. too many people judge, just cause we have long hair. Always searched my bags. I have 2 college degrees and finally cut my hair in 2000. just so i did not have to wait and get hassled. Greg, your a GREAT guy! DON'T let them get you down. They are some of the most rude types of people on the planet... Baggage handlers and desk jockies will never be able to make a fire or survive 3 days in the wild!! HAA Ha Also a fellow drywaller and professional taper painter. I like what i do and working with your hands gives one a sense of real work and satisfaction at the end of the day. I met my wife covered in drywall dust and Primer on my finger nails. She said "MMM your sexy all dirty>" "SALT of the EARTH".. MOST airport employees hate there job soo much they go home and drink to forget.. Its real men like us that can really appreciate TRUE FREINDS>> THANKS for all the knowledge and a few laughs,!!! PEACE Dave and LY
I used to go to college in northern Vermont at Johnson State College Johnson VT.I love Vermont and have backpacked the Long Trail and climbed up to the Mount Mansfield summit several times. We used to swim at Brewster River Gorge and fish for trout near Jay's Peak region.
Vermont is a great state. Gotta love all the Cabot Sharp cheddar varieties! I always have my parents send some to me in British Columbia and stock up whenever im back visiting them in vermont!
I just watched you make a parabolic fire with a dang zip lock bag man. I wanted to watch it again. Phone wouldn’t let me. Freakin sweet man! I heard you can do that , never seen it done! Insane!!! 😃😃😃🍺
Thanks for this video greg! I grew up along the VT/ NH border right by this area. I'm ashamed to say while I enjoyed hiking I hated camping out lol. It's nice to see the familiar woods. Bring gloves next time!
Bacon wrap cheddar apple bomb. Wow!!! I might try that myself. I’ll give it a go on my grill. Haha!!! As my other posts stay well and safe glad you guys are back in action. 😋
Don't blow into your hands. The moisture from your breath will make them more cold. Instead put them into your armpits or between your thighs. They're the warmest spot of your body... externally at least.
Those Rambo references were hilarious! Took me back to my childhood...now I want to watch "First Blood"! Haha....Keep up the great work Greg or should I say Rambo.
I wish I would have found you guys sooner! I'm a Vermonter born and bred. Still here. Would have been great to cross paths. I really enjoy both yours Zach's paths.
I've been addicted to Greg's Channel since his 30 Day Survival Challenge in the Canadian Rockies. In one episode he said the tip of this mountain he and Zack were driving by "looks like a nipple", and from then on, I've enjoyed this mans sense of humor. He reminds me of my late father who loved to hunt and go camping before he became paralyzed. My dad had the long hair, a huge bushy beard, definitely looked like an outdoors man. Greg seems a lot like my father was. When I would go camping with my dad as a teenager my father would start up a raging, cozy fire, get our food ready for cooking, he always brought along some type of fresh meat, usually venicin, brisket, or ribs, and he would smoke it before putting it on the fire, go fishing point out edible and medicinal plants, chopped wood, listened to the radio, told us some amazing stories from experiences he had in the past, usually stories from when he was a marine. A ritual of ours was to find the perfect walking stick, and during our little expedition we would work on these walking sticks by making little carvings into them. I actually still have a walking stick that him and i found, it has such a really cool shape. I brought it home, sanded it, made some designs on it, stained it and my father got me straps of leather to put up top for the handle. It's better than any walking stick or even a cane that you could purchase from a store. I really enjoyed those camping trips. If I could spend one more day with my dad, that's what I'd do. Go on one of our camping expeditions. Specifically, North Conway, New Hampshire. Only difference between Greg and my dad is we would have an after dinner mint rolled in the size of a joint and relax under the stars just listening to camp fire stories, listening to the wood crackle and pop as it burned in the fire, the scent of the pines. The sound of the leaves crunching, the way the wind would blow through the trees. I'll cherish those memories forever. Thank you Greg for bringing those memories back to life, even if its only for a few minutes. I appreciate it. 👍💚
