@@WhereNextFamily Yes, there is a mountainous area with very cold climates where you can enjoy the natural beauty of volcanic mountains, geothermal sources, ancient temples, waterfalls, beautiful lakes, the life of local farmers with expanses of vegetable gardens, also cheap and delicious local food, especially when there is festival events Culture (Dieng Festival) is great for seeing the diversity of local culture and art.
There are many interesting locations there that can be explored, and of course the temperature is cooler in summer like now, please see reviews about Dieng Plateau via video and search on Google, what are the impressions of people who have visited there.
Correction: They were never colonized by Indians. The Hindus and Buddhists were local Javanese, with two competing dynasties-one Hindu, one Buddhist-that coexisted relatively peacefully, even intermarrying. Also, Indonesia is around 87% Muslim, not 95%. And even then, many people don’t really care much about religious labels; they often choose whichever religion is convenient when asked during the census.
I meant to say Java as opposed to Indonesia on that statistic. Colonised was the wrong term. Indians came to Indonesia for trade and brought Hinduism with them
