We first wandered around the Abbey Ruins which was one of Europe's largest royal monasteries. We discovered the history of the Abbey then went through Forbury Gardens. Forbury Gardens is a huge green space in the centre of town which is home to the Maiwand Lion. After that we passed by the Abbey Gateway. The Gateway used to be part of the Reading Ladies Boarding School which was famously attended by Jane Austen and her sister Cassandra. We then went to Reading museum admission is free here. The museum houses a few artefacts found in Reading and a copy of the Bayeux Tapestry. We had a quick buffet at the House of Flavours, an Indian restaurant which we definitely recommend. We then went to the Madejski Stadium (currently named the Select Car Leasing Stadium for sponsorship reasons) which is home to Reading Football Club. We watched Chelsea FC win the Women's Super League Title. Then, we finished our day by going to the Oracle shopping centre and bought some boba tea from Bubbleology.
We hope you enjoy our Reading vlog.

Oh no, we didn’t see this response until now. A bit late 😅. However, yes Reading was a nice day out. There’s so much to do and a lot more shops and places to visit then we thought there was!

I used to live in Reading RIP my friend David Wails killed in a terrorist attack in the park with the lion statue. The guy that designed the lion statue took his own life after it was discovered lions could never take that pose/ position and he was ridiculed by his peers and he committed suicide. Lovely video Reading is a nice town but the traffic is on par with London due to where it lays between a swap, the Thames, and narrow railway bridges

Sorry for your loss. RIP David 🙏 Thanks for watching our video. We found Reading to be really nice, never been before other than to the football stadium a long time ago. We learned a lot about the history which was amazing and never knew there was a copy of the Bayeux tapestry.

You can take the Elizabeth line to Reading. Takes about an hour from Bond Street. Or take a normal train from Paddington. It will take 40 minutes to an hour. ❤️
