Wow! What a wonderful museum! I love the architecture and the layout of the collections. There is such power in the juxtaposition of nature and natural lighting across from the sculpture gallery. And the arrangement of other pieces within controlled lighting is brilliant as well. From the video we cannot assuredly evaluate the quality of each piece, but they seem exquisite and the diversity of the collection outstanding. Frankly, I am surprised I have not heard of this museum before. It will definitely be on my Glasgow bucket list!
I have to say I was very impressed by the building, and its architecture. There aren't as many nice, spacious, and modern buildings in Glasgow that I know of. There is also a coffee shop on the ground-floor with massive windows, which gave it a magnificent view on that snowy day. The collection was closed for the last several years due to revamp, and it's only a few months that it has reopened. I have to say, whatever they've done has worked. I didn't expect the building to be so huge and missed a few of the galleries that were right at the start, I'm planning to go back soon and this time enjoy the artefacts instead of videoing. You should definitely try it, there are even interactive installations (my inner child find those very engaging), and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
