Your driver is so knowledgeable about the area and the history. He was like a driving tour guide. I absolutely love the Soweto song they performed for you...so sweet. The history of Mandela is very powerful. I forgot about my problems for 8 minutes and the 52 seconds the video lasted. Thank you for sharing!😊

Its important to have someone who knows the area to tell the story about the area. The place is not Orlando East but Diepkloof (Where they said middle income area) There are houses that are financed by banks in Soweto (2:54-3:05). Great content nontheless.

Your guide shows you Southgate and calls it Soweto. Then shows you Diepkloof zone 1 and then calls it Orlando east. Drives through Phomolong and calls it Orlando East. Then he calls Desmond Tutus house a museum when it's a heritage site. You cannot go into the house as Desmond Tutus son still lives there with his family. Your Tour guide needs to get checked. And i am saying this as someone who grew up in Soweto.

S.A tourism department must be involved in vetting these tour guides in ensuring that they are competent enough to impart accurate information to tourists.

Soweto was the place of the anti apartheid struggle in 1976 which the youths led its fight for freedom.

It's sad that most of these drivers won't admit to knowing nothing about Soweto so they just make up stories as a result misinforming the tourists about such important history, some of whom might never get the chance to come back again thus loosing out on an enriching experience. Everything is there but if you didn't grow up in Soweto you wouldn't know what else to show the tourists, what a pity 🤔☹️
