Hello Guys,
In this video, I have shared my experience of traveling to our beautiful state of Nagaland in North East India. I had amazing experiences in Nagaland & now I'm going to share these experiences in the form of vlogs. I hope you will enjoy these vlogs of my Nagaland trip. Nagaland is also called “ The Land of Last Head Hunters”
Nagaland is a landlocked state in the northeastern region of India. It is bordered by the Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh to the north, Assam to the west, Manipur to the south and the Sagaing Region of Myanmar to the east. Its capital city is Kohima and its largest city is Dimapur.
Nagaland became the 16th state of India on 1 December 1963. It is home to a rich variety of natural, cultural and environmental resources. Nagaland is also called "Mountains of India". I'm going to figure it out that is it real or just fake rumours.

battle of khonoma:
From 1830 to 1880, Angami Naga warriors from Khonoma fought a series of fierce battles against the British to stop them from force recruiting Nagas as bonded labourers. On 13 October 1879, Guybon Henry Damant, a political officer of the Naga Hills, led a troop of 87 British soldiers to Khonoma to enforce a tax and the British recruitment of bonded labour. The British troop was ambushed by the Angami warriors on 14 October and in the ensuing battle, 27 British including Damant were killed.
Thereafter, the British called in reinforcements and laid siege to the tiny village. After holding out for four months, a peace treaty was eventually signed with the British on 27 March 1880.[3][5] Known as the 'Battle of Khonoma' this was the last organised resistance by the Nagas against the British.[6]
In 1890, the British introduced Christianity, and over a period of time, most of the villagers became Christians
Naga Tribe, Nagaland
The Naga are a group of several tribes who speak vanous distinct Tibeto-Burman languages, including:
Poumai (Poula), Sum, Lotha, Sanglam, Angam, Pochun, Ao, Mao (Emela), Inpui, Rongmel (Ruangme), Tangkhul, Thangal, Maram, and Zeme. In addition, they have developed Nagamese Creole, which they use between tribes and villages.
Angami Tribes
One of the major tribal communities of Nagaland is the Angarni Tribe. The territory of the Angamis is made up of the present Kohima district, which is divided into four regions; Southern Angami, Western Angari, Northern Angami and Chakhro Angami. The former Eastern Angami have separated and are now recognised as Chakhesang.
The Angami Nagas are hill people depending mainly on cultivation and livestock-rearing. The Angamis are known for terraced wet-rice cultivation. Due to this labor-intensive cultivation method, land is considered most valuable.
Angamis were traditionally warriors. With the introduction of Christianity in the region several Angamis changed their faith to Christianity and eventually inter-village feuds came to an end and so did head hunting. Although more than 98% of the Angamis are Christians, they are one of the last tribes in Nagaland who still practice anumism. Music forms an integral part of their life and their most favored musical instrument is the drum and flute which is played during all their rituals and festivals,
The Angamis celebrate a ten-day harvest festival called Sekrenyl Festival, also called Phousanyl in February. The term 'Sekrenyi' literally means sanctification festival. The Angami men wear shawls and women wear Mechala; a wrap-around skirt and shawis with bold designs and patterns. Both men and women wear strikingly beautiful ornaments which comprise of beads, pendants, bangles and bracelets.
Angamis are popular for their woodcraft, bamboo weaves, cane furniture and woven shawls. Angami women also practice pottery and basket making. Pork with bamboo shoot is considered one of the common dishes among the Angamis.
