Hi, I’m Frugalist Steph! Today we are talking about the visual clutter that distracts us and how the silent to-do list adds to that. Thank you for watching!

I liked watching you actually clear the spaces. It's more satisfying than just hearing the words again about what we need to do! It's good to see clearly what a big difference a little putting away will do!

This was so satisfying to see you show one thing at a time being put away. Before and after. Thank you for keeping it simple. It has left a good impression for me going forward, right now. Very sweet.❤️

Half of it isn't a visual clutter. It's just a clutter. Visual clutter is what stays after you tidy up all those blankets, toys and toasters. It means cables, dozens of different bottles in a fridge, various hangers as you show.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I don’t consider daily use items to be clutter which is the beauty of minimalism; each individual gets to decide for themselves.

It's okay to have things. It's okay to have things where they are. When I see things in places I just think, "I see things in places." It's not the things in places that cause stress or depression or overwhelm. It's the stories some people tell themselves about these things in places that do that. Stop telling yourself stories about your stuff. I have stuff. You have stuff. Our stuff is where it is and that's okay. You won't find true inner peace until you stop trying to change people, things and where they both are. Things are. Things are wherever they are and (I know this is hard for you but) it's OKAY. When you get HERE, you'll find peace. But first you'll have to look at your stuff and where it is and be okay with THAT. Good luck. Here's homework. - See something on the counter. Think to yourself. I see something on the counter. STOP. Do not tell yourself what this thing MEANS and where it should be. It is just a thing on the counter. It can be on the counter. That is all. Breathe in. breathe out. Remember it's the meaning / value of / use of and stories about these things that are you deciding you feel something you decide about it all. -- Al of that is imaginary. It is just a thing on the counter. There are reasons why you give things meaning and tell yourself stories about these meanings...all I ask is that you have this awareness and leave the things be. It's okay.
