Thank you luv! 🥰 I'm loving the thickness as well. I wouldn't have minded thicker, but I'm also happy with where they've come from and where they are now. Blessings 💙🙏🏿🌻
Oh WOW your hair is GORGEOUS!!!! I have not retwisted my locs in 4 months - and I have been thinking about just going semi-freeform. This video has SOLIDIFIED that decision for me! Thank you for sharing your journey with us! 😍❤
Thank you lovely! 😍😘 And yeees do it, it's reeeal niiiice over hear! 😂 I love your locs, they remind me of mine. 😊 They look about a year/a year in a half old? I will be doing some videos on how to maintain semi semifreeform locs and the dos and donts (because yes, it can be done wrong ... ask me how I know 😶 lol) ... so be on the look out for that! 💙🌻
This comment almost made me cry! 😭 Definitely tearin up ... that's my heart, God's greatest blessing to me! Thank you so much for all your sweet words. 💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙😘😘😘
Thank you beauty! 🥰 I know what you mean about the missing the short length. I be missin my shorter locs all the time. And ooo, I look forward to year 6. I just feel like my locs will fall more evenly.
Thank you so much! I think if my hair had more density it wouldn't bother me as much, or if the layers were all uniform ... buuut, you're right, they DO add more texture which i LOVE! I also love how God uses others sometimes to hit you upside the head and remind you of things like, "Listen, stop that ... you are beautifully and wonderfully made!" 😂 Thanks for the reminder! 😘💙
Awww that makes me so happy!!! I think I have 33 too, or 35 ... maybe even 37 now 😅 (I have a "how many locs do I have video" and I cant even remember the count lol lol smh). Blessings on your journey lovely! I hope I can continue to make contect that only encourages and uplifts you! 💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙
😭😭😭 These recent comments have just been feeding my soul with so much joy!!! Thank you so much beautiful! I'm so happy that this video inspired you. I just want to share God's love, joy, and happiness on this platform as I share all I know about my crown! So it blesses me to read your comment. 🥰 God bless you! 💙🌻💙🌻💙🌻💙
@Victory The African Mermaid you are much welcome this just inspired me to go back big with my locs when I let my hair grow back out. This was the icing on the cake. I kept battling my hair changing my locs none stop and I cut my hair off so that I could do some more self growth and my my coming across your video. Uplifted me today and it motivated me so much. I needed to see this and you just don't know how much your light affected me today. Thank you for being true to yourself and helping to heal the world with your inner beauty 👁 see you and I'm grateful for your video. Thank you blessings, favor, love and light to you 💚💛🌎🥰
your locs are so pretty and healthy. I am 9 months locd and embracing the short fuzzy stage lol its not easy to not braid over them every month. I have about 50 locs and sometimes feel I don't have enough volume since i have very fine hair but this video encouraged me to trust the process. thank you queen
🥲 Thank you so much beauty! Comments like this bring me joy because it's exactly what I desire to accomplish with each video I post, to motivate and encourage my fellow locd brothers and sisters. Yes, just trust the process and take good care of your babies as best you can, and you won't regret it! Blessings Queen! 🌻💙🙏🏿
Thank you luv! I do love the layers, but their are those moments (because I don't have the most dense hair) they sit a certain way that looks a bit off and I gotta move them around lol I'll be happy when ALL my locs go past my shoulders, and I don't think I'll miss this length (it's that weird pre teen, in between stage 😂). I do, like I said before, miss my shorter shorter locs. Those little guys were a VIBE! 🤙🏿 Do you know around how many locs you have? Or do you think you have high density/thick hair?
Thank you luv! And eeeeeey 💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿!!! Welcome to the loc community, you're gonna love it here! 🥰🌞🌻 Please feel free to ask me whatever questions your little heart desires, and I also welcome video requests. I have several now from some of my lovely subscribers that I'm stoked to put out! (Uploading one today actually 🙂).
Yaaay! How exciting! I love your gibger tresses, your locs are going to be so beautiful! 😍 I'd love to see the end result. Enjoy every bit of your loc journey even the "rough stages" ... and when they are short, and take lots of pictures/videos to look back on and encourage you when you feel like you see no progress. Blessings on your journey lovely! 😘🌻💙
Loving your energy! I’m coming up on my 3 year anniversary as well! Jan-28-23😝 About to start my retie session was thinking of digging up my old photos for a look back video.
Thabk you luv! 💙🌻 Retie session? Like a retwist? And you thinking of posting a loc journey video, or you tryna look back and just see how far you've come?
Your such a Vibe, My sons birthdays in March as well! I have one of each, Locs are nice and thick, I'm 3 years in May, I documented it on my channel. Great video!
Yeeeeeeesss!!! This comment right her thooough! 😍💙 I was waiting for another SPZRKT fan (his former name). That's my guy! I'm SO HAPPY that my journey could inspire you! I hope I can continue to inspire and help you along your way, as we encourage one another in our journeys. Blessings lovely! 😘💙🌻
Thank you lovely! Year three ... congrats! Once you're past the "rougher stages" it's just so fun right? Especially when you're taking care of them well. I'm so in love with the journey of locs! 😍
Thank you lovely! And how exciting! Please let me know if you have any questions. I'd be more than happy to create a video reply, or direct you to one I might already have up. 🙂 This journey is not always an easy one, but it's SO WORTH IT! And you learn how to have fun with it along the way. 😊
Thanks for droppin' by dahlings! Feel free to check out my other videos for more loc inspo. Blessings 😘🌻💙 . Moisturizing routine - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-34S2K-Dkjr8.html
Girl ... it's the "we're at the same length" for me 😢😭😭 And you not even at 2 years. I NEED YOUR SECRETS ... OR YOUR GENES 😂. Also ... I'm trying to remember what I said about the low pony situation. 🧐😅
@@IkambaDeVictoire you were talking about growing out your layers 😂💞 but girlll I have my own issues. I’m about to combine them and everything. You’re beautiful, you’re locs are beautiful 😍♥️ definitely a new subscriber
I actually was watching the video today ... and the ponytail/layers part came up and I was like, oooh, THAT'S what she was refering to. 😂 And those aren't issues luv, it's just you figuring this journey ting out. 😊 I think combining them as early as possible is the best, so that you allow the base to remain healthy and strong. I combined mine like year 5/6 with my first set ... but they were already so unhealthy. I eventually decided to just cut them off and start over with larger parts from the jump (I also bleached and dyed the mess out of them ... so there was that 🥴). I'm glad I started over and my only regret was not doing it sooner. I wish you the best with your loc combo journey! 🙂 I did my son's dad's with a crochet hook, and they are pretty dope and thick now! Thank you for your kind words, and welcome to the triiiiibe! ❤💛💚
Congrats on the new journey sis! And thanks so much for subscribing. 😄 I hope the content I post in the future will help you along your journey! Blessings 🙏🏿🌻
Just have to say: you are a stunning beauty. And your level of creativity with your hair is out of this world. What is the name of the extension you used ( the blue styles)? Be blessed!
Thank you so much lovely! I appreciate your kind words, and you have me missing my colorful locs! I haven't been dping extension styles lately because I've been focusing mainly on hair health, but I'm feeling a new blue style in the horizon! 😂 This was the website I would use about 97% of the time. They have FABULOUS colors and a large assortment of lengths, hair types, and accessories as well. www.ikickshins.net/ Hope you find something you love! Blessings! 🌻💙😘
It will thicken up in time luv! Thank you for your compliments, but we all have something about our locs we don't necessarily love. I find myself wishing my locs were fuller a lot of the time. I have low to medium density and fine to medium strand size type hair, so it's not the fullest and sometimes hard to achieve the "thick/full loc look" I desire As well. There's always something that will work right for you though, you just have to have patience and grace for your crown as it grows (preaching to myself), and continue to do your research! 🙂 The three things that I believe have helped my locs thicken up the most are, not styling as much (or at all these days), using less or no oils, and not retwisting. There are a few other things that I'll probably make a video about one of these days ... but it all took me time to figure out .... and in the mean time, I learned patience and how to love my crown exactly where it was (mindset is everything! And speaking positivity and life to the crown doesn't hurt either). Your locs are beautiful! Depending on the method you used to start your locs, and some other factors, some people's locs just mature slower/differently ... but, they will get to where you want them to be Queen. Just keep envisioning just how you want them to be, hold on to that vision, keep them healthy and keep exploring different things that work best for YOUR locs ... AND YOU'LL HAVE YOU BEAUTIFUL THICK GLORIOUS CROWN before you know it! 😘
your hair is gorgeous hunny. I would like to know some tips you, or anyone else in this comment section may have on preventing flat locs especially in the starter phase.I have thirty five starter locs
Sure lovely! Currently at work. Will come back to this comment when I get off, and reply with something thorough that I hope will help you out along your journey! 😘 Blessings
Hi luv! So first off, great job asking questions like this in the early stages of your locs, and being open to learn. It's good to know what you want early on and you'll thank yourself later down the road, because your locs will look exactly how you desire (for the most part). Some things can be fixed or even watched then prevented during the starter loc phases that you can't necessarily fix when your locs are matured (w/o deeper intervention anyways, like using crotchet hooks as one example). The main things I would advise to prevent flat locs would be doing your best to refrain from sleeping on wet locs, checking them often then palm rolling and reforming (into cylinders) the locs that you find trying to flaten, and lastly consistent/routine and proper maintenance. So you shouldn't wait too long in between retwists. This will ensure your locs continue to be trained to stay cylindrical in shape. Now these are only a few of the tips, and if I wrote more I'd feel like I wrote you an essay (as if I haven't already 🥴 ... but I'm good for writin essay responses nah! 😂😅). Sooo, until I make my own video on this topic ... and as to not inundated you with an overabundance of written information, here are two helpful videos you can watch at your leisure. This is a helpful video from one of my favorite loc RU-vidrs, my boy TP! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A0lq6xNq8zo.html The top one is more concise and straight to the point. This one is a little longer but goes more in depth and has more information in it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KEZ6IHrPz_k.html Blessings! 🌻
@@IkambaDeVictoire every thing about you, your physical, and mental just seems blessed. Can you talk about your diet and exercise routine. Also, maybe how to keep a glowing spirit.
@@walkinthewoods981 what a beautiful and encouraging coment! The way God works is mind blowing, and you'll understand more when I create and post this video ... which I MOST CERTAINLY can do (and I'll tag you soon as I post it). 😁 I want my channel to stay focused on loc content, so that I keep giving RU-vid the right information, to know who to suggested my videos to so that I can continue growing my dope little tribe. However, the things you asked about are actually essential for not only mind, and body balance, but for your hair as well! I'm very thankful for viewers and subscribers like you who are not only helping me grow with your support and engagement, but you are helping me to better myself as welll. I appreciate you! 😘
@@walkinthewoods981 thank you once again for this dope video idea. I thoroughly enjoyed making it. I hope you enjoy my friend! 💙🌻 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U6nCY1BrN68.html

😂 I don't know how many times I've gotten this question in the past cpuple of days. Haha I told another viewer that I wasn't sure and that I'd love to do a fun video and find out along with all of my subies and viewers! Thank you for your sweet words? Do you have locs? And if so, do you know how many you have?
Just dropped the video yesterday lovely! Hope you enjoy it and that it blesses you! 🌻💙 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U6nCY1BrN68.html
How often do you retwist sis? No retwists, less/no oils, and less/no styling has really done wonders for mine thickening up and adding more volume! I'm actually embarking on a new "journey to thicker locs" (shoot, might start a new playlist/series called just that). I had somewhat of an epiphany 😂 and I think I figured out some additional things that will help my babies get thicker. I'll DEFINITELY let you know what come of it all! Your locs are still beautiful btw! 😘💙
Hey babes! So if you mean this one, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yZvBRI0cwkc.html ... i got it from Target and they no longer sell it! 😭😭😭 But if you mean another one, please tell me what time you seen it, I can let you know (you can just hit the little 0:12+ symbol when you leave a comment and it will put the time of the part you are looking fo). 💙
Thank you lovely! 😘 So, long story short ... I was over using oil and it not only created build up, but it broke my hair as well. Even though a lot of it was my misuse, it got me interested in looking into the effects of too much oil and oil vs no oil in a hair routines ... I was blown away! I then found a whole community of people on no oil journeys w/ thriving hair and scalps! I shall do a video soon on the benefits I've seen so far, three of them being more hair growth, more volume, and lighter softer hair! 😄
I like the front one on the right. I named her Ceecee. They all look nice. I've been semi since 2017. I started with traditional locs in '99. Sometimes I do miss my starter locs when they were all FLUFFY. I have fluffy roots now!
Oh that's so cute, Ceecee, I like that! I need to come up for a name for mine. And wow, 6 years of locs ... I know your babies are LONG! I know there are styles to mimic shorter locs but yes, can't ever get that true short fluffy stage back. It was so fun and free! But I'm happy to be at the stage I'm at at now! 😊 I love the fluffy roots ... it makes for more volume. I might make a series called "Journey to Thicker Locs" .... we shall see. 😄
@@reneemattier5883 oh, my apologies! Wow wow wow! I bet they are sooo long! 😍 Have you ever cut them? Where do they come to (lower back, knees, ANKLES?!?! Haha)
@@reneemattier5883 whaaat?! That's so amazing to me ... to have been so comitted and dedicated for such a long time! I'd love to see them! 😍 Are you on Facebook or Instagram?
Thanks luv! And I can't ever rememeber! 😅 Somewhere around like 33-35 (I have a video on here about it. Check if out if you get a chance! 🙂 It should be called "How Many Locs Do I Have). I've also recently started two small locs in the front so whatever number the # on the video is + 2! Lol I al
@@Waitadamnminute you're so welcome! Thank you for reminding me! 😅 So I have 37 now! That's two of my favorite numbers and the 2 heavenly numbers of completion! 🤩 I definitely won't forget the count now! Do you have locs? And if so, do you know how many you have?
Stopped putting in extention type styles, very low manipulation, no retwisting, no heavy oils, drinking lots of water, taking daily vitamins of choice, and keeping them moisturized and hydrated! 😊 But what it really comes down to is low manipulation. Frequent styles and retwists compact the hair, causing it to not be as thick. Less is more sis, and yields BEAUTIFUL locs!
@@IkambaDeVictoire I just wanted to be sure cos I just started a new set and seeing your transformation makes me feel like it’ll be that big so I panicked for a moment. 😂 Yours look nice but from someone who used to have slim dreads and now going big, sometimes I’m not sure I want that attention but I’m not ready to start over cos I don’t even know what I want only to have the hair grow cos I hate short hair. Lol. Thanks for responding tho. You and your locs look great.
@@realmaureenoyakhilome oh I see, you were afraid yours would be too big. So yeah, I INTENTIONALLY do things to have thicker locs. 😄 I just saw one of your videos. I believe you will probably have small to medium locs when they grow out (especially if you retwist them and do styles). I believe you'll love the end result. Best wishes to you on your journey lovely! 😘
@@IkambaDeVictoire really you saw my videos and I haven’t updated cos they got bigger and I’m only 3 months in. 😂 funny they seem they would be medium in comparison to yours or like yours cos my husband said they are big but I’m sure it’s in comparison to my previous. I like them now and I’m prepared for whatever. 😂😂 sorry for the late response just seeing this cos I’m watching your video again.
Because it's temporary. The body's a temporary thing. Adorn it and love it and care for it how you want while you have it. We'll be dead and dust eventually, why should we act like we're already there, eh?
