I live in India.I have been following you from the start of the pandemic Doctor.I have been regularly taking Vitamin D and have also emphasized on the importance of Vitamin D with my family.Everyone in my family have taken their vaccine except me as I am young. With India opening up vaccines to all above 18 from May 1st,I can soon get my vaccine.Thank you Doc for your guidance and knowledge.
Kerlay's shadow rule. If you are out in the sun - if your shadow is longer than your height, then your skin is not making any vitamin D, no matter how sunny or hot it may appear to be. UVB is a weakling and is deflected by cloud, pollution, clothing, glass and an angle of less than 45 degrees.
i have a friend in India who is a doctor in a Kolkata hospital. I remember him telling me that they had tested all the people working in the hospital for Vit D and it was found that over 90% were deficient.
No level of sunny/heat matters IN WINTER! Southern Angle means the REQUIRED UVB WAVES do not reach ground level. No one from above 35° latitude can receive any Winter UVB! Only supplements & food sources can work. & High levels of supplements far above assumed and up to 3times that for obese to maintain good levels year round.
People miss this a lot. Magnesium is ABSOLUTELY crucial in the activation of vitamin D. Most people are highly deficient in Mg. "Magnesium and Vitamin D Deficiency as a Potential Cause of Immune Dysfunction, Cytokine Storm and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation in covid-19 patients"

@@Its_ND yes every COVID patient takes about 5000 mg of vitamin D, I got it as well and I took it even 10 days after having no symptoms, same goes for vitamin C, they also give some people Magnesium and B complex its individual but VItamin D and C is a must
It is not simple to fix. Whereas it is very likely that vitamin D is a key aspect of our immunity, boosting vitamin D through nutrition is actually quite hard. Despite regularly taking supplements, both dr. John Campbell and Dr. Mobeen Syed had suboptimal vitamin D levels. I went through the literature and couldn't find a proper dose recommendation for efficient prevention of COVID-19 or for therapeutic use. It is not a treatment in the MATH+ protocol. So while probably useful, you should experiment with the intake under your doctor's supervision and have regular blood checks to know where you're at. Also, there are interactions with other vitamins (K) and minerals (Ca), which you should monitor, and the gut microbiome has a role to play as well, as Dr. Tim Spector always stresses. In other words: it is not simple at all.
Had my physical last week. Asked the doctor if I could get tested for Vitamin D. He said he doesn't bother with testing for Vitamin D because "what's the use, everybody's test comes back as deficient anyway".
They sound a bit defeatist. I mentioned it to my doctor recently and he made a notation on my chart, but beyond that, he really had no comment. I take 3000 i.u. a day, but have not been tested.
that's exactly what my doctor told me a decade ago, and so I've been taking D everyday since and haven't had a cold, flu, bronchitis, or pneumonia since.
Yes, we dont go out in the sun. That is why i take vitamin D from your recommendations. Its hard to let people know it here. Even my own family cant take it to heart
I know what you mean- 3 of my family members SCOFFED at D3 suggestions I made and all of them recently came down with COVID and one went to the Hospital. She always said heavy alchohol intake would kill the virus
You all are in a cult. Vitamin D does not prevent covid and for you to keep preaching this when countries like Brazil, India and Chile are suffering proves you are deluded. UK. The single country with the most vitamin D Deficient population is doing better than countries with high vitamin D exposure
@@posteveryside-beatsnews No one said vitamin D prevented COVID. But it reduces the chance of cytokine storm. All of those countries you mentioned are also known for a deficiency. But multiple factors come into play. But to ignore vitamin D because of it is foolish.

I’m an Indian who’s lived in New York for most of my life. My Dr. actually prescribed Vitamin D many years ago because my bloodwork showed I was Vitamin D deficient. I never took my Dr. seriously with regards to Vitamin D. However, your videos really drilled it into my brain on the importance of this wonder Vitamin. I’ve been taking 4,000 IU’s every day for the last five months. My latest bloodwork now shows I’ve moved up from “deficient” to Vitamin D Insufficient. I’m going to up my dosage to 5,000 IUs and hope I’ll get to normal with my next bloodwork. Thank you so much for your great work during this pandemic.
Given that you have some catching up to do, ask your doctor about taking 10,000 IUs per day. If your skin color is dark enough, you won't get that much Vitamin D from sunlight. In my unprofessional opinion, it's apparent that 4000 IUs per day isn't enough for you. You didn't give us specific ng/mL (or nmol/L) figures, but insufficient likely means less than 30 ng/mL. Based on what I've read, 40 to 80 ng/mL is optimal. (Given the pandemic, 60 to 80 ng/mL would be better.) Over 150 ng/mL is potentially toxic. If your Vitamin D level ever goes above 100 ng/mL (which won't be an issue for you anytime soon), you definitely need to cut back. If 4000 IUs per day brings you to 25 ng/mL, I'd expect 10,000 IUs per day to bring you to a much better 62.5 ng/mL.
@@jasonhsu4711 one of my health professional friend deliberately took high dose vitamin d with vit A,E ,k2 as mk7, magnesium citrate . vitamin d level was 636 nmol/ l which is equivalent to 254.4 Ng/ ml.but the blood calcium level was normal means there was no toxicity.we usually take about 10000 i.u.vitamin d daily with other suppliments, for years now and feel great.i am from India and live in the UK now

In India Vitamin D deficiency may have a genetic component too. As an Indian I have been taking vitamin D from pre covid times after I found my vitamin D was 16 ng/ml. After supplementing @ 7000IU daily for 2 years my numbers went up to 23 ng/ ml. Once covid hit I increased my intake to 60000 IU twice a week and 1000IU on other days it then took me 3 months to reach 80.84. And I'm not overweight and also eat meat. Now I try to maintain a supplementation of 5000 IU a day.
It’s heartbreaking watching that country try to solve their issues with hoarding oxygen tanks. They need to make vitamin D and ivermectin available ASAP to all these suffering people.
Ivermectin is used in the most populous state there: Uttar Pradesh. Infections and deaths are low there. Unfortunately the Health Ministry of the country banned Ivermectin from the protocols last October.

Now that I live in London, I take a daily dose of 4000 iu everyday. I got pregnant and I recently upped my dosage to 5000 iu. I know I need it as I am a vegetarian and have been primarily working indoors since the start of the pandemic(sun here doesn’t help anyway for my skintone). When I was deficient, I had mood swings and hypothyroidism ( autoimmune condition) both of which are under control now with an optimum level of vitamin D. I test it every year when I visit India (private testing costs in London costs are unimaginable). I am privileged to diagnose and treat my deficiency but I know not every one is. Dr John you and some other experts online have been begging people take vitamin D for the last year. That this is not broadcast by major media outlets is probably the saddest most frustrating thing for me about the pandemic. It is STILL NEEDED AFTER VACCINATION as well.
It's been inspiring watching you as a medical professional discover and explore just how important Vitamin D is and how it effects such a large part of our health.
It´s really shocking that this deficiency is so prevalent even in hot sunny countries such as India... The fact the we Europeans are basically all heavily deficient without supplemenation is no surprise at all after a long winter, but I wasn´t aware this would be such a huge problem in India too. Hopefully the healthcare officials there will recognize this problem and get people informed.
Following your last guest interview, and previous videos, the case for Ivermectin is looking very strong. Is there ANY way you and your fellow sensible scientists can take this forward, very noisily, in the very near future? It could be a potential life saver in India at the moment, and it seems both tragic and immoral that the information is being suppressed.
I saw a news piece about a crowded province in India of 220 million inhabitants abandoned all hope of vaccinating its citizens in the midst of a severe outbreak of the Delta mutant. Instead they distributed free Ivermectin. Within a month their case load and death rate fell to effectively zero, with only one or two deaths per day. And this is in a province with extreme poverty and poor sanitation. Ivermectin is too safe, cheap and effective, therefore it is the subject of a war upon its use utilizing the most blatant tactics of news fraud and censorship.

@@anthonygaydotcom That's some kind of logic there. Covid is considerably more transmissable, flu viruses have been around a long time and nowhere near as lethal for the majority. I agree with this Vitamin D message. I would add that if hospitals have postponed treatments and operations and largely giving the message to stay away then that also is a contributing factor. Great to see Dr Kory recently on your channel with the Ivermectin message. Edit: And of course the oxygen shortage must be hitting hard to those that also previously needed it.

It's very naive to think any government will find such research. The vaccine rollout is only legally possible if "no treatments" are available. This is one of the prerequisites to allow "for emergency" the use of those vaccines which are all still in experimental phase (phase 3 of clinical trial). Many other simple measures could have been used, vit D, oxygen peroxide nebulisation, UV light disinfection, zinc supplementation .............. It is now obvious that the agenda has been to roll out mass vaccination & soon vaccination passport. You should wonder why. It might help you understand what's at stake here.

I’ve read in a vitamin deficiency support group that you should really take co factors for it to work but I wasn’t advised by my doctor about anything like that. Co factors being magnesium and k2. I’m going to ask my doctor in a couple of month to. Re test my levels.
They frequently won't retest you. I got a retest as mine were under 15nmol/l but if it is over 25nmol/l the various protocols GPs follow around the UK mean you don't get retested on the NHS. Oh and I was told after my second test that I needed to be tested yearly but the NHS won't pay for it. A friend of mine who was found to be vitamin D deficient two year later in the same health group was also told the same thing there as other people I've been in touch with were not advised to test themselves every year.
Great video update! I’m quite surprised that so many people are vitamin D deficient in India! I hope this video helps them realize how they can improve their situation! Thank you Dr Campbell for your hard work ☺️
A news article from today said they were running low on medicines, as well as oxygen. They didn't specify medications but that is also a contributing factor.
Dr Renu Mahtani is an Indian Medical Practitioner who has been educating India and the World about vitamin D and the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in India for a long time. She has a number of excellent RU-vid videos available.
Could the community centres in India start rolling out more dosages of Ivermectin. Allegedly they are based in every street and hand out information, rice, etc etc.
They were using ivermectin but stopped when they started rolling out the vaccine. I don’t know why this isn’t getting coverage and why they haven’t gone back to ivermectin??
@@kildareire probably because big pharma won’t allow it as they make no money , it costs cents and works. . They want us all vaccinated as it is big money for big pharma.
@@memoumoumou2629 what total tosh! Big pharma makes far more money if you should get Covid! Or any other disease vaccinations prevent! Use your brain cells instead of believing clever clogs conspiracy theorists 🙈🙈
