I don't know why people have to Hate Vitamix or Hate Blendtec Blenders. I own a Blendtec, Thank you for introducing me the Vitamix Temper. I bought the Vitamix Temper. Combine the Temper with My Blendtec. Now I have the PERFECT Blender. I don't have to hate Vitamix. I don't have to hate Blendtec. I think my life will be Happier.

I think the haters of this video bought a Blendtec instead of a Vitamix. I bought a Vitamix and use mostly fruit that is frozen at the peak of ripeness to make smoothies. So because I am subbing frozen ingredients for fresh, I have found the tamper to be an invaluable tool. It is very efficient and so easy to clean, too! It takes like five seconds to rinse and dry it immediately after use. I usually lick the smoothie off of it before rinsing, though! ;)

I have had my Vitamix since 2012 and it is still alive and kicking. My Vitamix is better than any blender I have ever owned. Before Vitamix, I burned out blenders every 3 months and only got subpar blending. Vitamix gives me quality blending and it is a workhorse :)

This was definitely worth the 15 minutes, why? 1. To know on which one of the two I should get. 2. It was really cool watching you make all of these recipes. 3. This was so helpful! I recently found out that I'm allergic to well over 50 different foods, and additionally have a disorder that requires me to make as many foods as possible completely from scratch. I already cook a lot but have pretty minimal kitchen supplies. Aside from a couple mid-range knives, a high powered blender will be my most expensive kitchen purchase. But with so many dietary restrictions, the added things I can create will add a lot of extra value, not to mention nutrition, to my life. That scoopable sorbet and the dream of pumpkin seed butter were major highlights! I had watched several videos, but yours really helped make the decision easier. Thank you *VERY* much!!!!

Mung, do you have MCAS/Histamine intolerance? That's what my wife has, same limitations on many foods and requirement for freshness. The vitamix we bought for her has been a huge help!

@Blending with Henry I have used and owned Vitamix since early 90's and Blendtec for 10 years now and I use the Blendtec twister jar exclusively for peanut butter that I make for myself in about 10 seconds. Blendtec I also use to grind my wheat into flour.

We love our Blendtec in general, and the dull blade was a selling point for me, BUT the Blendtec is limited in what it can do (thick things, small jobs). We have two different jar sizes and I still couldn't make pesto. I was considering the Twister but wanted to see it in action since it's so dang expensive. Thanks for the thorough review!

yes I know that but they say if you buy a juicer it takes out the pulp which is the nutrients so I'm looking for a good blender that will blend the fruits and vegetables without to much pulp or any

I used to have a blendtec and it would always get the cavitation problem as the one in the video does making frozen deserts without liquid. The blendtec you used even gave a warning on the display screen to add liquid! Can't wait to try out my new vitamix WITH 'plunger', this video confirmed it. Awesome video Henry!

Had my Blendtec for 10 years and it still keeps on working with no problems. Maybe when my Blendtec dies I will consider a Vitamix -- 10 years from now. It is just a tool -- if it does what you need -- doesn't matter.

Overall I think the tamper is better. It comes with all Vitamix blenders, unlike the twister jar which doesn't come with most Blendtec blenders and costs over 100 dollars extra. It also allows for larger batches to be made, and can be used for more recipes than the twister jar. However, I think the twister jar is pretty foolproof, while it takes some practice to use the tamper properly.

With Vitamix, you don’t need to twist anything! Glad I got a Vitamix! The Vitamix tamper is easy to clean and has many other uses too! 😉 I’ve made hot soup in our Vitamix too. You can hear the motor on the Vitamix, which is far more powerful than the BT. If manufacturers do anything “quietly,” it’s because they messed up somewhere or are using cheaper materials.

I recently bought excalibur dehydrator. Now, I'm planning to buy a high speed blender mainly for making fruit leathers, smoothies, nut butters and ice cream. You're a life saver! This was extremely helpful. I'd seen the blendtec demos at Costco for years and, having only had $50 blenders, was impressed with the quality. However your video makes it clear that the tamper is invaluable to high level blending, and any substitute just doesn't work as well. Great video mate!

Great video. I have a blendtec and I hate it but I received it as a gift. It cannot blend without plenty of liquid and I constantly have to stop and shake the jar or use a spatula to get the air bubble on the bottom. Definitely going to get a vitamix one day.

I HATE cavitation! I love my blendtec but hate that it happens every time, and I don't like adding liquid so I stop and shake and shake or use a spatula. I'd love a vitamix, but the blendtec was an investment. It'd be awesome to have a blendtec with a plunger! Brother, do you have all of the blenders and jars?!?! I want to do what you do!! 😦✊🏾 It was obvious from the start you're team vitamix lol!

I own a blendtec and believed their will it blend series. But, i just found an option for the blendtec not covered here, it's called the alterna lid tamper system for bendtec. I ordered one so we'll see how it works out.

My sister has a Blendtec and she has had to get the jar replaced three times. They're under warranty, and a new one is received in less then 10 days. BUT, that means the blender cannot be used when the jar is not available. Who needs a blender that is reliable and working only 80% of the time? I was gifted a new Vitamix Heritage Pro 750 this past Spring, and I love it. I use it many times a day, every day, and in the six months I've had it, I've had to use the temper ("messy plunger") less than five times, and it was not messy at all. Good review, thanks for covering so many important points.

I love my Vitamix. Cannot live without it. I make almond butter all the time and do not use any oil. It is just as smooth and creamy as I like to make it. Also made peanut butter with no oil.

Any vitamix jar with any container it comes with can make this. You don't need a specific container.

nope, you can get it for $50. when you purchase, you have 30 days to add containers for $50, PLUS the containers (EVERY ONE YOU PURCHASE within 30 days of the original vitamix purchase) can be added to the extended warranty at no extra cost! You just have to call after you purchase with Henry to get it all set up WITHIN 30 DAYS! I have every container, including the dry one!**

I spent over £1600 for a blendtec stealth plus just over £900 on extra jugs for my shop. Although powerful the blendtec is not efficient. I wish I purchased a Vitamix. I think I'll get one in the summer for smoothie bowls.

The best blender is the Vitamix. I try the Pro 300 with the small dry and wet container.

They both seem to be fairly good at what they should do. There might be some advantages from one to to the other but none of them fill like bad products. It all depends on how you use it.

Vitamix clearly wins. The good thing about this review video is that he used the same amount of ingredients on roughly the same settings between the two blenders. The tamping rod (messy plunger) incorporated with the Vitamix is quite useful at eliminating typical blending problems.

I agree with the point that the twister mechanism is actually more awkward and messy than a tamper however, as to its effectiveness, it would be great to see you demo it with clockwise rather than counterclockwise rotation. It looks to me as though the design calls for clockwise rotation to push material to the blade. You did the opposite and that may have caused the poor blending performance. Just a thought.

Sorry but you're incorrect. The Twister Blades are designed to be turned counterclockwise. The diagram on the twisting knob tells you to do so. Blendtec has also made it clear it's designed to be twisted that way.

I think I read that the Vitamix requires a separate dry jar for milling and grinding.

Not required, but recommended for chefs or people who consistently bake and want to make their own fresh flour.

Separate jar is because repeated milling can make your jar cloudy.

Just an aside which I hope will come in useful to the Blentec. Instead of the person applying manual strenth to rotate the twister, it would have been better if there was a spiral which could aid the process. As Henry says having a sharp twister is dangerous. The blades are sharp but they don't protrude like the twister. It is long and two down thrust swords. It's highly dangerous and should be prohibited. The twister could have been devised without sharp edges and to aid in movement. Or we could have a lid with blades attached and have the job being done from both ends. However wires and current and safety will become an issue.

Thanks for exposing Blendtec and their false claims! Amazing video so happy with my Vitamix after having it for 3 weeks now! It amazes me everytime I use it and I have made numerous recipes without the use of tamper! So yes the Vitamix can be independent without it, all comes down to how you load the ingredients, plus the precision of using the variable control. Thanks again Henry!

Had a vitamix for 10yrs. had to get rid of it as it sounds like a jet engine. Vitamix is great if you want to lose your hearing. Have a Blendtec 800 professional, would never look back.

Great Demo videos as always! I wonder on a lower price point, if any Food Processor could mix these Recipes for a lesser up-Front Cost? I've seen them make Ice Cream and Nut Butter easily! Thank you.

Good review! I have a Vitamix 750 Heritage and have been using it for about a month. I wouldn't trade it in for any other blender -- period. I had made this decision based upon extensive research on my part, and the conclusion I made is NOT regretted. Of course, one must always remember -- the machine does not give you improved health unless you use good ingredients in the first place. I know many use the Vitamix for bars and alcohol consumption; however, any responsible nutritionist will tell you any amount of alcohol is destroying your liver . . . and bottom line, you cannot live without your liver. So make your usage of the Vitamix for good rather than think that the machine in of itself will give you a better lifestyle coupled with good health . . . it will not, and neither will any other machine do that for you either. You decide.

It's funny reading the comments where people are saying how the Vitamix sounds so much more powerful, but Blendtec is putting out 50% more power on average. Vitamix is only around 2 hp and all Blendtec models are 3+ hp.

Hi Henry! I was so disappointed with my blendtec bcus I always used frozen fruit and the same thing happened to me! I had stored away my expensive blender for a while because I didn't think it worked well! Your videos are teaching me the best ways to use it! Although this video is making me want a vitamix..

I can say i switched to Blendtec and immediately no more overheating problems =\ I duno once you have to replace a super expensive Vitamix blender cause it burned up then the new one did to. I have no idea why I have had such bad luck with them. I went to the competitors and now no more over heating problems ..... yea ill deal with not having a tamper and go with reliability. maby I ll invent a lid and tamper add on for blend tech blenders to sell on the side.

Good review, but If you don't live in usa, blendtec is prolly one people get, since the price :D! Vitamix outside USA cost 700-800€ and blendtec 300-400€, half th eprice. And with blendtec I just buy plunger to go with it, smush the stuff down from hole top of the jar.

I have had a Vitamix for years, and let the blendtec guy at Costco sell me a Blendtec. The Vitamix is MUCH better.

I agree with Vitamix being better. In my opinion, I believe the Vitamix is more durable and faster than the Blendtec. I once blended 3 cups of frozen mango,1 cup of ice, and used the tall jar to blend it all. To my surprise, that tamper got all the ingredients down into blade in seconds. I tried this with Blendtec twister and the tiny little twister jar barely holds anything, so I needed to do it in intervals, but Blendtec made a convenient concept, and tool into a totally annoying twisting tool. Both blenders are great for people's preferences and needs, but I totally prefer the Vitamix's build and design.

the blendtec doesnt do as well with things that are frozen solid, and its a little slower and less powerful than the vitamix. That being said, the blendtec does do a better job at making a smoother, more uniform blend.

Hi Thanks so much for watching and for the kind feedback. The Blendtec Wildside Jar "can" make nut butters but it would require a lot of stopping of the machine and scraping down the sides of the jar until it blends. May take 5-10 minutes to do so. A normal blend time for nut butters is 1 minute.

The Blendtec does not need a tamper. But what it does need is another jar which costs $100.

Well, BlendTec has recipes for making hot soup within the blender (no stove required). So while I don't know if Vitamix gets equally hot, BlendTec definitely must!

Great video as always Henry. Wow that blendtec blender seemed like a good idea but doesn't their QA people test for those problems? Shape edges are Def a no no for ppl with small kids who like to help. Or with the mini rocking and rolling with frozen items and ice in it is just a mess waiting to happen. No doubt about it, I would Def choose a vitamix blender. Might not have that fancy touch pad on it, but it gets the job done better and safer. And safety and less mess is Def a plus for myself and many people.
