The deck seems good, but I suppose you should insert some ways to win other than Vito. I was thinking about Ajani’s pridemate or Heliod, cause if u don’t see Vito the backup plan is only a slooooooow beatdown!
Play this! I second the other people asking about Serra Ascendant, maybe also Speaker of the Heavens for more M21 fun? Probably too slow for Modern but I can dream
Righteous Valkyrie into Vito, tap Speaker for a 6/6 token gaining 6 life for 6 life loss, going 12 if you have two Valkyries is a nasty combo. Add Ephemerate for the flicker damage and you have cheap extra damage bouncing Vito for another 3/6 life gain at the price of four mana for the turn you do it.
You didn't mention the 2 damnations in the sideboard, which is a very weird inclusion, not only because they're much more expensive, but wrath of god would be better as it's a white card for martyr of sands, and the deck is mostly white because of that, so it'd be easier to cast.
Lemme see it or a similar deck played! I love my aristocrats and lifegain decks, and Vito is a big addition to an EDH deck of mine, so I'd love to see it played other places!
Maaaaaan, you made this two years ago and I totally missed it. I was messaging you on Twitter about it 😂 Only things he’s missing are Tainted Sigil, Children of Korlis, and some way to pay lots of life
Serra ascendant unfortunately gets worse with fetches and other painful lands, but I agree there needs to be another finisher. Taking out the ascendants and pridemates while relying on only 4 Vito to close seems risky as hell.
@@jacksonletts3724 as true as this is about the lands he's gaining so much life off of other sources like the martyr of sands simply revealing 2 or 3 white cards off of that cards ability gains you 6 or 9 life respectively so losing life off of the fetch lands out of that wouldn't be the biggest problem in the world all the time
OMG, THIS DECK LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!! Souls sisters have always been an interesting deck. But now with Vito, the Souls sisters just got a Super Edgy Older Brother. Goodbye Serra attendant hello Vito. Now you can drain your way to Victory without having to swing a single creature. Now that is SWEET!
is lurrus really better than return to the ranks in that slot?? no ranger/knight captain of eos either... i think vito can be good here but this list seems unoptimized.
This deck is a lot cheaper if you change the thought sizes for inquisitions, lose the fetches for some cheaper duals, change the horizon land for some other value land like castle locthwain, maybe add ranger of eos as another way to gain value, downgrade the sideboard by replacing leylines with a tormod's crypt, change the damnation for a weaker wrath. It still comes up to 200$ paper and looks a lot less competitive, but here's what I came up with. www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3168406#online With even more downgrades, I brought it down to 110, but at this point, it's lost to aggro. Still looks pretty fun for casual play though. www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/3168425#paper I think a more competitive budget deck could exist if you just focus on rally the ancestors, but I don't know how to build it. Quick disclaimer: I haven't been keeping up with the modern meta, so my card choices might be off, especially in the sideboard.
I don't think it is a fit for modern, it may have decent mus, but it is way too fair to work imho. You start dealing dmg turn 4 assuming everything's fine lol. To put things in perspective, toolbox style is not that strong atm but seems easier and more reliable to assemble than that.
